Product Description Item No.   10238475

The Superfly is MSR's most versatile and adaptable canister stove, capable of running on most domestic and international fuel canisters via the Multi-Mount™ interface. The sturdy design can accommodate larger pots and the broad flame delivers even heating and fast boil times. It can boil 1 liter of water in 3 minutes. Three minutes! Before switching to the Superfly, I used an alcohol stove which had a boil time of like 6-8 minutes. But now, after a day of hiking, that decreased wait-time is very noticeable and very much appreciated. It takes up very little pack space (can fit in your pot) and weighs in at less than 1/3 lb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Stove I've had this stove for around 5 years; maybe more. I use it for camping, backpacking and off-roading. My son uses it for his boy scout adventures. I love it. It's simple to use and it does its job. I also like the fact that it was affordable versus getting a twice as much jetboil. Look, I just want the stove to boil water and cook my food; and it performs the job quite nicely. If it's windy, we just put something in the way to block the wind. The metal parts cool off enough in 5 minutes to fold it back up and put it away. This little stove is affordable and reliable so I give it 5 stars. I plan to buy another one, so we each have our own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and powerful I bought this stove last summer...I have used all kinds for the past 35 years. Starting with the SVEA 123. This is the best light weight stove I have used for backpacking yet. I was a little skeptical about the butane canisters, how long they would last, etc. My first trip with the Superfly, one canister lasted me 5 days up in the 10 Lakes area of NW Montana. I did start a few fires with wood and cooked my trout over that, but with a small grill, I could have used the Superfly. It heats water quickly, takes up very little space and is compact. What else can I say except five stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superfly is superfast! As a long time owner of both the MSR Whisperlite and XGK,they now mostly collect dust because of the Superfly stove I've owned for past 10 years. Most of my trips now that I'm a parent/husband( read-slave) are 1-3 nights max-the superfly is the easiest, lightest, quickest and most reliable stove I've ever owned - so easy for multiple start ups for coffee/tea refills. 1 medium MSR isopro cannister lasts me and my mate 3 days/2 nights of somewhat gourmet cooking(read-no freeze dried)-which,by the way this stove excels at r/t the low simmer output.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy operator I've had this stove for a number of years and it's never failed me. It starts easy and can be modulated for simmering to full boil. It sits a little high so it catches the wind, but a good tall screen helps. The ignitor button is plastic, so it will melt when the screen is too tight. This has happened to me twice so I just always use a lighter or match now. If MSR would redesign the ignitor with a metal button that would fix the issue. Overall, this is a good stove that is so easy to operate

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and sturdy but sometimes impractical I've used the superfly with autostart for more than 5 years now, in numerous outdoor experiences. I found it to be very sturdy with various pans and pots of all sizes. However its adapter is somewhat difficult to use with common CV470 fuel canisters that don't feature a tall lip like proper mountaineering gas canisters - an adapter that can be screwed on such canisters would be highly useful. That's why when visiting other countries I usually resort to packing the pocket rocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific multi-standard stove! I got this stove for a camping trip to New Caledonia. Unfortunately it wasn't available in Australia where I live, so had it sent to me from Canada. It worked flawlessly with the Campingaz canisters you get at most hardware shops ("quincailleries") in New Caledonia. BTW, there is no white gas there, so your liquid fuel stove might be useless. I was happy without the starter. I also got the MSR-branded canister stand, which provided security with a billy on the boil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all around canister stove! I have owned the superfly stove since 2008! it has performed exceptionally well in all seasons here in Montana. While it is not the smallest or lightest stove, it fits nicely in a small pot or tea kettle. It is also very stable even with a 2 litre pot full of snow or water on it. It has seen good care but many uses. I camp out just about every month so in the last eight years I have used this stove for possibly hundreds of meals. The fact that is can connect to any fuel canister is a huge benefit. I like MSR fuel (their blend seems to work well in the cold) but if that's not available I can always find something in a local shop. Additionally, when I wore out a part (probably from overtightening the canister locking mechanism for seven years, MSR sent me a new part no hassle within a week. This stove like the wisperlight that I have owned for 25 years is a classic!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Canister stove I bought the superfly last summer to use it on a 10-day trek through the Dovrefjell National Park in Norway. The Superfly is very light and of a great quality. It comes in a protective cover, and It fits exactly in my 1l cooking pot for additional protection. The design is simple but reliable, and fitted perfectly on all canisters that we used in Norway. I am sure it will be used on many future trekkings!
