Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple camp stove. I've used this stove a lot and I like how simple it is. No spilling fuel or worrying about the igniter not working. Just screw on the canister, use your own lighter or striker and you are good to go. This stove and a fuel canister easily fits inside of a camp cup or small pot with no problem. It's very stable when using a larger diameter fuel canister. Some people down canister stoves because they are all like " what if I can't find a canister and I need to be able to siphon gas out of a car to cook my squirrel soup during a zombie apocalypse" and I'm like "bro, did you just say zombie apocalypse? I'm hiking the AT, everybody has canisters"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent stove for camping or a zombie apocalypse I bought this stove to use while camping. This compact, lightweight stove worked extremely well. It had excellent flame control, even down to the tiniest of simmering flames. I was able to cook pancakes to a light golden-brown while camping. The ability to control the flame was much better than J**boil, so I used the other product to boil the water/soup and the PocketRocket™ to cook all of the meals. Additionally, the PocketRocket™ brought things to a boil quickly when I needed to and it didn't blow through a ton of isoPro. I would definitely use this for all of my camping needs as well as emergency preparedness (like a zombie apocalypse!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best canister stove on the market. I have had the Pocketrocket for a little over 3 years now, and it is amazing. Fuel efficiency, small size and weight, it definitely punches above its weight in terms of performance. I've paired it with my Titan kettle for solo trips, which is probably the lightest weight system possible while using a canister stove. Has its disadvantages, such as susceptibility to windy conditions, but you are not buying a canister stove to excel in poor conditions. You buy a canister stove to quickly boil water while not taking up much space. This stove has shown no signs of wear in 3 years of consistent use, and I expect it to last a lifetime if it is taken care of well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall product for price I bought this stove over 3 years ago and have used it time and time again on rock climbing trips and 14ers, from the Appalachian Mountains to the high desert in New Mexico. If I'm going out for <3 nights this is my stove system. Even now (fall/winter) its so light and compact with my MSR alpine pot I take it on day hikes for tea when I reach the peak or turnaround point. I have no trouble boiling and making food for my fiancé and I. Guarantees to boil even in wind, little more difficult but works well for its size. If it ever breaks (due to user error/dropping because its made bomber) I will no doubt be purchasing another one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A stove of this quality for under $40? Buy one already! You may be thinking to yourself, "Gah, this little stove probably doesn't do all that well... It is small, it is cheap, it isn't FANCY!" Lets be honest with ourselves here, yes it isn't the Reactor, but for the price, this thing is AWESOME! I have never had an issue with my pocket rocket that was a deal-breaker. Sure, in high winds (12+mph) it becomes less effective at boiling the water in your kettle. But for a super light stove, for under $40 you cant go wrong. Plus, it is nearly indestructible so you will never have to buy another. ,,,,FYI, it also doubles as a grappling hook, best to turn it off first though.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Supported a year expedition I used this guy for the better part of a year, cycling over 6000 miles.. Never let me down, convenient and available (stateside), it boiled lots of water, cooked beautiful one-pot meals and packed down into the dualist cookware. I have since picked up a whisperlite for a wider fuel choice, but this little guy will always be there for weekend backpacking trips.. Note! the flame is rather concentrated on pots and pans. Its a little more work to make sure everything gets cooked evenly, but oatmeal, soups, and mushy stuff are easy. its when you bust out the pan and want to saute that it requires a bit more attention

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact size I've had my Pocket Rocket for over 5 years now and has performed and held up very well after many backpacking trips locally and in the High Sierra mountains. Its main advantage is its compact size, taking up very little space in a pack and weighing next to nothing. Setting it up and lighting is very easy and I've never had any trouble with it at high altitudes. The only Con I can think of is the lack of a burner windbreak attachment. When the wind's blowing and you can't find or build an out of the wind spot to set it up in, a lot of heat can be lost and more fuel used. Overall, I like it for its size/weight, its simplicity and durability, plus the price wasn't bad either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in class I have had my first MSR PocketRocket for years. I recently went on a camping trip with new friends we met and they noticed my pocket rocket in action each morning making the coffee. Since then I noticed 2 of the 4 couples we camp with have recently shown up with their own MSR Pocket Rocket!! Lol. Since our last trip I have actually purchased a second one just for doing some cooking while making the morning coffee.. I love these stoves. I can boil up some water as well as scramble up some eggs in a matter of just a few minutes. Then fold it up and put it in the included case and actually stick it in my pocket. These little guys are awesome!! Wouldn't own anything else actually.
