"Won't take a trip without it" 04/23/13
We used this for a trip to Quetico Provincial Park with a group of 8. It beats hand pumping water any day!! The filter speed is very fast in my opinion. I love being able to backwash the filter when the flow slows down. This makes everything run like new again. The best part is you can use the attachments to connect to an MSR Dromedary bag. This allows you to set everything up and walk away. You don't have to worry about water spilling out.
"Best Filter Ever!!" 12/07/12
This is hands down the best water filter I have ever seen or used. It is incredibly lightweight and packs up fairly small. So easy to use and fills the water bottle super fast. I've used it a few times in western ontario for several days at a time with no speedy trips to the woods for an emergency. Fill it with water, roll the top and synch it around a tree branch. Haven't replaced the filter yet and it still works great. Definitely no regrets with this purchase!
"Great system" 05/27/11
I got a gravity filter because I was sick of pumping and I don't like my mountain streams to taste like tap water. I pared the fat on mine down to 8.9 oz. Out of the box, the filter and whole kit weighed about 14+oz. The setup I like is using the whole system as a hydration bladder, sucking on the output from the filter. I use the stopper clamp between the bag and the filter, and I snap it open or shut like a faucet. Very convenient. I can go even lighter if I change the bag, but I'm reassured by the prefilter in the bag's output.

"Great product. Gravity filters are the future!" 03/28/11
Swapped a Platypus Gravityworks I got for christmas out for this (who needs a "Clean" reservoir when you will always be filtering into one of your own bottles/bladders?)I was amazed at how easy it was! No more crouching with a pump, you gather a ton of water by just swiping the Autoflow a couple of times through the water, then go hang it in a tree (with the very convenient straps) and just let gravity do the work. We clocked it at a liter about every 40 seconds. Super fast! The only downside is that it might not be easy to fill if you only have a trickle of water but besides that this thing is perfect. Can't wait to use it again!
"Beats the heck out of pumping at the end of a long day on the trail..." 02/11/11
It's about as efficient as you can get. The only issue I had was when temps dipped below freezing. You can't leave the filter exposed to the elements or else it will freeze and render it useless. I simply removed the filter and tossed it in the footbox of my sleeping bag. I just thought of one more thing that became a temporary problem when my water source was very shallow. It took a bit of time to fill the bag, but I still was able to capture enough water to filter enough water for coffee and Ramen. Still, it's always in my kit when I hit the trail.
"Great gravity filter" 09/25/10
Super fast filtering with a few things to keep in mind. Need a bit of depth to scoop up water. The hollow fiber filter cannot freeze so toss in the bottom of sleeping bag if the temp could drop. There is a simple field test that can be performed to ensure the filter is functioning properly which is described in the product documentation. Huge reservoir and lightweight and soooo easy to use- let gravity do the work. Works very well for my purposes. Performed beautifully on a recent week on the AT.
"Would recommend for 3 season backpacking" 08/25/10
This filter rocks- holds a ton of water, filters super fast and is pretty light and very easy to use. Let gravity do the work. You will need a water source with a little depth to scoop up the water into the reservoir though, and the filter can't get frozen so throw it in the bottom of your sleeping bag if the temps might drop. Recently took on a 5 day backpacking trip and this filter shined.
"Great filter, as long as it doesn't freeze." 06/14/09
Title says it all. Works well, great flow and comes with a bottle adapter that will allow you to filter water directly into most available containers. (I have used a Camelbak, a MSR Dromedary bag and a Nalgene; flawless on all three.) One big downside is that the filter element will be destroyed if you allow it to freeze. I live in the arctic and this is problematic. My solution: Take the filter module off and keep it in your jacket inner pocket. Overall great filter.
"Worth it's weight in gold" 05/11/09
This filter has absolutely spoiled me. After using the pump variety, which can be quite acrobatic in the wilderness, this puppy is incredibly simple. Water flow is much faster than hand-pumping as well! Fill it, hang it, forget it. I couldn't have said it better myself.

"if you lie to drink water when you are in the wild this thing is the whip." 02/16/09
it doesnt get any easier then this sexy momma. just go to the source, scoop it up, hang it up, connect it to another bladder and walk away. no more hovering over water, standing on a log hoping you dont fall in. in the great words of Ron Popiel, set it and forget it!!!
