"Best Boots for everything!!" 10/01/12
I work construction and wear these boots for 12-15 hours a day everyday. Right out of the box and never one blister! Have had 3 pair in the past and when they finally decide not to make them anymore it will be a sad day! BUY BUY BUY! Best boots ever
"Durable and reliable" 06/12/12
I've had these boots for a while now and been out in all sorts of weather and terrains on both long and short hikes. They are listed as mountaineering boots but doubles well as heavy duty hiking boots. They are really warm and fits really well. I never got a single blister from these bad boys. They are 100% water proof. They are very stiff, so if you plan on using them for regular hiking like I do you have to adjust your stride a bit, but it's no problem once you get used to them. I bought them for a Rainier climb, but they do really well in all sorts of terrain except pavement, so don't wear them out on a Saturday night.
"Best boot I have ever owned" 03/14/11
I bought this here on moosejaw and was nervous about buying a shoe I have never tried on. After reading such great reviews I did it. I wore them all over the Wasatch front and look for excuses to wear them to work. they look brand new after a season of non stop weekends plunging into dirt snow green apples and sticky movie theatre floors. The only place I haven't taken them is the hot tup and its because I like to keep my feet moisturized and these boots are gore tex. Never needed a break in. Mine were the only warm feet on a -5 degree snowshoeing trip. We even revives a hypothermic badger and cooked with it the other boot. Yes, they are that good.
"These boots are awesome. Put 12 miles on em right out of the box" 03/13/11
I was really reluctant buying such a specialized boot online. But right out of the box took for a spin in the canyon by my house and they're as comfortable as a full mountaineering boot could be. Also, i judged hosed the mud off to prove the waterproof qualities. Two thumbs up!
"jos papineau" 01/22/11
I have been pondering about a great all around winter boot for ice climbing, snoeshoeing, generalized climbing you name it. I found this boot to be tremendous in all regards. It is light, rugged, great traction, superb craftmanship and teriffic to climb in. They are equally comfortable with crampons on climbing a waterfall or just hiking up the trail. They work not only well but incredible!
"They do the job" 12/24/10
I picked these up to begin my training program for the Himalayas. I brought them with to New Zealand to climb both single and double cone in the Remarkables outside Queenstown. The traverse was amazing with perfect weather and a great partner. The boots met the mark with crampons on snow and on steep rock. If you make it to the area I highly recommend the climb and the boots for the big cold stuff.

"Good boot for the buck" 12/14/09
I went to break these in a week or so ago in about 26 degrees. They weren't too hot but i stayed very warm! Boot naturally pushes forward and has good braking. Not so great for the trek in unless you're on a good gain/loss throughout. Once again i thought the braking was excellent on descent.
"Oh my god..." 11/30/09
I bought these for a trip to Mt. Whitney, took them out of the box and headed out to the mountain. Felt a little uncomfortable at first, from the ankle up and was worried I should've broken them in before actually hitting the trail. 3 days later, after walking on through snow, water and dirt these babies didn't leave a single blister right out of the box. And the best part, kept my feet warm and dry after the beating they took. Awesome!
"Bomb Proof Boots" 05/09/09
I bought these boots years ago and they have taken absolutly everything I have throwen at them. I am very impressed with these La Spotivea boots and the way they have held up to years of abuse... Hands down I will ware these boots till I die. Great for long backcountry treks but bilt to last. Built for long adverse weather and terrain abuse. Did I say Bomb proof? Have a great day, and love the Madness!!!
"Quarry boots! ;)" 12/15/08
Extra durable boots (extremely rugged, thanks for inner steel shank). Very comfortable. Heel stabilizer is really good as for protection, and so on for heel stabilization when you climb and walk. But the ruber rand must be higher, and without gaps around the boot, for more protection against elements. Gtx and duratherm work properly, no question about it. And at the end, definitely this is big bro of the small, good and old Makalu! =) Big 4 with plus!
