If the weather is wet, this hiking shoe will be at its best, with a KEEN.DRY™, waterproof/breathable membrane hidden inside. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny, these shoes do not disappoint! I buy Keen shoes for the fit (wide feet) and durability. These hiking shoes live up to the reputation. Ordered a whole size up from my normal size (my other Keens are a half-size larger than normal). Glad I got the larger size. They fit great, with plenty of width and room to wiggle toes. So far, they have remained waterproof in rain, deep puddles, and wet grass. Short break-in period, wore them 'around town' for about a week, with no hot spots. Will replace the keen insoles with Superfeet because the insoles that came with the shoes are not supportive enough for high arches. Tested them out on some easy trails and had no problems with slipping or rocks/roots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You are 99% likely to heart these shoes. Love, love, love this shoe. Bought them because i was going out on a week long adventure that included some moderate mountain hiking, and they performed beautifully. Being the doofus that I am, I didn't buy them early enough before my trip to break them in well, so I did get a couple of blisters but this is totally not the shoe's fault. Since then i've found myself wearing them a lot more than I thought I would...their funky rugged-cool look is really growing on me. As a side note I bought a half size larger than I normally wear. Anyway --- overall this was a great purchase and I highly recommend these shoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome hiking shoe: light and comfortable I took these 'boots' with me to Central Asia where they got put through the ringer hiking through Krygz. and Uzbek. Never had an problems with them, the soles held up through miles of hiking/backpacking, laces and eyes never gave out, the heal loop was great for getting them on or clipping them to the backpack. I took out the factory insole though, it wasn't very comfortable, and replaced it with some superfeet. Life was much better after that. Also, the toe box runs wide, so duck feet people rejoice.,,,,p.s. they're also a great casual shoe for walking around slippery colorado winter sidewalks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did me well while hiking in the Rockies Love these. Wear them hiking Mississippi Bluffs in the Midwest and daypacking the Colorado Rockies. Wide toe-box was great for my wider foot. Traction held onto ball-bearing rocks while getting to the summit & didn't slip on waterfall splashed boulders. No break-in time needed, but did order a 1/2 size up to prevent toe-jamming on decents. Never felt any rocks poking through either & toe bumper prevents wear (which is why the kids version is the best kids shoe on the face of the planet too). Stayed comfy on a 10+ mile trek in Vail's Backbowl area. Only beef - could use a better insole (especially on the 10 miler), but that's easily fixed with about $40 (but for $100, you shouldn't have to).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this shoe!! One word of warning...this shoe does run a little small. I typically wear a 9.5 but had to get it in a 10. Not an issue though. This shoe is great for light hiking. Even in the mornings when I take my dog for a walk and the dew is still on the grass, never get my socks wet!! Can't beat that. Another bonus is they make you a little bit taller. The sole is thick and comfortable. These are great for spring, fall and maybe winter days. But way too warm for summer!!!! Highly recommend them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous, Comfortable, Great Shoes!!! :o) These shoes are super lightweight and very comfortable. Definitely order a 1/2 size larger than you usually would, as they run a bit on the small size. They offer great support in the arch. The only down side is that they're a bit bulky in the tongue area, but I have found that to be typical with waterproof shoes, as the tongue is webbed, which makes for a lot of material to cinch down. However, wear them for a while and the material will compress and become more comfortable over time. You won't regret this purchase!!!! They're super comfy for a whole day hiking!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from they'll become your favorite shoes I bought my first pair because I wanted waterproof shoes to wear in remote villages in the Dominican Republic. I wore them every day for the 2 months I was down there. ,,,,Since then, I've used these shoes as my go-to hiking boots. They are light, sturdy, and waterproof. I've also used them for trail-running, mountaineering (not recommended), rock climbing, and wading into the frigid waters of Puget sound. And I wear them to work. And church. ,,,,The webbing that holds the laces broke on my first pair, but loved the shoes so much I got another pair to replace them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will buy this again and again I love this Keen hiking shoe. I hiked 700 miles in it on the Appalachian Trail and it still feels amazing. I NEVER had a blister from these shoes. (I did take the time to break them in first, of course!) There is one little place where the tread is starting to be loose, but otherwise the shoe still looks and feels great. My feet are wide, and the boxy toe area is perfect for me. They are also relatively water-proof, which is a nice addition. And because the laces are bumpy they stay tied pretty well unless they are wet.

What is the drop on this shoe?

Asked by: dbdwyo
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Sorry for the delay...I had to go all the way to the top for this answer, straight to Erik from Keen, Inc. I quote "For the Targhee you are looking at a 12mm drop. Most all of our hikers are between 12-15mm drop." Hope this helps you out! Hugs.
