"Ready to wear right out of the box" 04/09/13
They are extremely comfortable and after one day breaking them in they feel great, and feel ready to get out to the trails. Great ankle support and ventilate decently regardless of them being waterproof! Totally recommend.
"Great, comfortable boot for light-to-medium hiking and around town." 01/27/13
I am one of those people who like to have a single pair of shoes for everything, so I pretty much wore these boots non-stop for a year and three months. For everyday wear and backpacking trips, including an eight day through hike with ~40lb pack, these boots proved to be comfortable and had good traction in every situation I wore them in. They are excellent for my wide feet. The only knock I have after wearing the crap out of them is the lace loops (keeps them from 5 stars). The webbed lace loops don't hold up like the rest of the shoe, and were the reason I had to retire them. If the lace loops wouldn't have failed me, I am confident they would have lasted a couple more months.
"Pretty amazing boots" 09/01/12
My husband needed some hiking boots for our trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. I have the women's version of these boots and adore them so I obviously tricked him into getting these exact boots despite letting him try on some other top brands at the mall. He usually wears size 10.5 in all his other running and dress shoes, but we found going up a 1/2 size in these was ideal and worked great with some nice wool hiking socks. He loves them and says they are nice and roomy, comfortable, and didn't need to be broken in before climbing around Acadia.
"webbing kept tearing and broke" 06/29/12
I took these out on a total of 3 trips totaling probably under 30 miles, and the webbing started tearing on the laces. I tried to retire them to work duty, and day one, the webbing tore on both shoes. Overall, i've decided to go back to my good 'ol Merrells.
"Great Hiking Experience" 12/20/11
Recently got back from a fabulous trip to Calgary, Alberta Canada. My husband and I did the Glacier Hike (tea house) near Lake Louise. These are the hiking boots I bought for him just before our trip. He loved them, and I was jealous (now I want to buy the women's version of these!!!!) He said they were very comfortable, gave him good traction, were breathable; I think they look good too!
"First Keens that I actually enjoy." 06/22/11
I can't stand normal Keen sandals. I always seem to get more sand, dirt, rocks and water stuck in the bottom of my foot for me to really enjoy them. Needless to say, I was VERY skeptical before buying a pair of their boots. I guess they do everything that I wanted out of a pair of boots (waterproof, keeps my feet warm, etc.), but sometimes my heels are sore after wearing them for a long time. I've peaked a couple of different mountains with them and the dogs are usually barking by the time I get home, but they hold up well and have been good for the most part.I wouldn't take this on a multi-day trip, just little day hikes.
"Good boots shorter trips" 05/17/11
The fit is great if you have wider flat-er feet, or as another commenter said 'barge foot'. I guess I have barge feet too. Anyways they fit great but there seemed to be NO shock absorbtion compared to some other boots, on longer hikes my feet would just feel pounded. So I trimed an oversized set of superfeet orange insoles to fit these and BAM! They are a fantastic combo. For the longer hikes with heavy packs and bad weather, these are NOT the boots to take.. But if you are making shorter trips with light packs they are perfect. They have held up better than I expected over many, many miles of use. Good boot overall but I would try to get them at a discount if possible.
"Great Fitting Boot for a "Barge Foot"" 04/27/11
The Keen boot is a great choice if you have wide feet like I do. I slipped this boot on and it felt like it had been form fitted to my foot. I'm very pleased with the way it fits.
"Great Boots" 04/14/11
I've been wearing these boots & pretty much nothing else for 2 years now--hiking, camping, to work, around the yard. I had a struggle getting the correct size--they run VERY small. (I usually wear a size 10 in women's, but with these boots I had to get a 10 in men's. I don't have this problem with Keen's sandals however) They're easy to clean, waterproof, comfortable and have held up very well. When it's time to replace these I'll be getting another pair.
