Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look better than the H2's. Not as good in water I bought these for trekking the La Ciudad Perdida trek in Colombia. I'm due to leave for this in a couple of weeks but I already feel I may have been better off with the h2's for the water crossings. While the leather looks much better than the nylon webbing of the H2's, the foot bed doesn't dry as quickly as my friends H2's which when continuing hiking can be a bit uncomfortable. ,,They are great for cooler footwear in warm climates and I love the toe protection on rougher trails.,,These are never going to win style contests, but for a sandal, the leather makes them look much better than some other brands and better than the H2's.,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid hybrid scandal, offers nice features. These traditional keens are what I am going to call a hybrid scandal, because they have a closed toe. In a way, they have the best of both worlds. The thick rubber "toe guard" keeps you from stubbing and breaking your toes while hiking, but the open design of the straps allow for good ventilation and also make these an ideal water shoe. There are only a couple issues worth mentioning: first, because of the semi-closed design, it is hard to remove gravel. if you're walking through small rocks and grit, you may have to take them off to clean them out. Also, they aren't incredibly lightweight. Overall, they are really unique and awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sandals I am a great fan of Keen and have about five or six pairs (so do my wife and son). I just got them this spring as an upgrade from Keen Tijuana I had for the last two years. I was concerned with the size b/c Keens' seem to size down. I normally wear 9.5 and this was the only size in stock. I got it, and O Miracle, it fit just fine, while my other Keen's are a nice feet in size 10. What I like is that Aegis coating which repels smell (it was a disaster with Tijuana) and just overall look. They are very comfy and should last for two-three seasons no problem. My only question is why New Charcoal would actually turn to be Green?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They're comfy, but not for sensitive feet. These sandals are overall super comfortable! I got them because I have hot feet. After wearing them though, my feet were still hot. There is so much neoprene-like material pushed against my skin all the time. The other thing is the left one is a little deformed at the toes. I have to see if I can get them replaced, but who has the time. I'm pretty sure this is why it pushes down on my foot a lot, and caused a very serious problem with my foot. I couldn't walk for a week! The souls are incredibly comfortable though. I'm sure anybody getting a pair of these that are not deformed, and has normal foot temperatures would just love them! One more thing. They say they're odor free, but that's total

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy these shoes. You won't be disappointed! Ok, so these specific shoes were actually purchased as a gift for my dad, but I have the same sandal (in the appropriate size, of course) and I just can't say enough good things about them. Actually, I've bought 3 other people these shoes as gifts and eveyone thinks they are wonderful. I've worn them kayaking, hiking, bumming around town and trapsing around a vineyard in the mud to sort grapes and they've never let me down. They're comfortable, stylish, rugged and easy to clean up. I'll certainly purchase another pair if I ever manage to wear out the first pair (which I doubt - these things really take a beating and still look good!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfortable, wicked good shoe these are hiking boots with air conditioning. uppers are waterproof leather with a soft inner lining. foot bed is a soft suede-like material. but, these ARE hiking boots so you gotta break 'em in. give them a few days around town, get 'em wet once or twice and then they are supremely comfortable and ready for the trail, not before. i wear a 10 1/2, the 11 fits great. very roomy toebox, good cushion in the sole and though the tread isn't all that aggressive, the rubber compound is relatively soft so the shoe sticks well to pavement, rocks, grass... they dry out pretty quickly too. best hiking sandal I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for short hikes and campfire nights. Don't get this if you want a stereotype Keen sandal for water sports, as the leather sandal (though water resistant) takes quite a long time to dry out. I wore it a few times while kayaking, and it took several hours to completely dry out. Though, it wasn't uncomfortable to walk around when wet, so I guess that's not a big complaint. I like it a lot for short hikes, and it's nice all all kinds of terrain. If you plan on longer hikes then it's best worn with socks. If you plan on a backpacking trip, then I'd suggest wearing a more typical hiking boot, but pack these for those nice nights by the fire.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good traction, weigh a ton when wet I bought these for a rafting trip. I've had Keens before, and they've always done the trick - these are no exception! Sturdy enough to provide protection and support, breathable enough to dry out fast, and they don't get "funky" like some of my other Keens do. Exceptional traction on wet rocks. The drawstring can come loose on its own, but not bad as long as you tuck the excess into the side or top of the shoe. Very durable, as they took a real beating for 5 days in a row. Even had success as a make-shift climbing shoe! Only real downside is that they weight a ton when wet.
