Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding product; perfomance is unmatched in category Recently worked in a snowy region in Afghanistan (elev. 8900m). I used these things constantly and they took all kinds of abuse. Prior to getting these slip on spikes, I was of the opinion that this set would only be good for occassional use. I actually left these spikes on one set of boots and used them for about 2 months straight. I live in a snowy region in the states and will keep my set in my truckbox. I had yaktrax 2 years ago and found that the springs only really worked on a snowy improved roads. Rocks, debris and sticks could get stuck in the springs routinely; the Kahtoolas don't have that problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There is a reason you can't find your size Let me guess, you've been thinking about getting a pair of these for awhile but you're on the fence. Maybe they haven't had your size so you haven't bought them. Well, take it from me and everybody else, order these, even if they're on backorder. If they have your size today don't wait, if you do you'll be waiting for awhile. ,,,,These things are great, great grip, great durability, they grip your shoe great, they're adjustably great, and anything else you want to be great. The reason they're sold out or don't have your size? Because everybody else on the trail will be wearing these this winter while you're sliding around trying to get a grip. Get on board while you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Probably the best $60 you can spend on this website (unless you live in perpetual warmth) If you ever find yourself hiking in an area with snow, slush, sleet, ice or the like, then you will quickly realize how awesome Microspikes are the first time that you climb right up some steep, icy rock on a trail. You barely even notice that you have these on while you're hiking, unlike front-pointed crampons. I've had my pair for a couple of years now, and have used them on hikes in NY, VT and NH. There's no doubt that they've prevented twists, sprains and possibly even broken bones on the trail. Seriously, they're the best $60 outdoor product around, even though they look like they're cheap and not going to last. Just buy yourself a pair already and join the rest of the smart kids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy Canyon Climber I bought two pair of these for my son and I to hike in the Grand Canyon over winter 2 years ago. They held up wonderfully for the ascent down and up when there was ice and slush on the trail. I tested before we went hiking on our icy black top and knew they would be wonderful.,,,,Since the hike I have keep a pair in my wife's car and mine. It has come in handy when things get icy. Now 2 years after the purchase, I am planning another hike down the Grand Canyon and my son and I will be wearing them again. They hold up great and worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They work if you keep it mellow You aren't going to climb or run in these (at least not for long), but they will keep you going on an icy trail. Lateral movements and steep inclines get sloppy fast.,,,,Unless you've got an extra cinch-bag made of heavy nylon, get the pouch for them, cuz those spikes are . . . spiky -- and they will go through or rip most any of your gear and the upholstery in your car. These also are the ticket if you want to get even with a greenskeeper or lawn fetishist without risking the ankle turns that come with using crampons on turf. ,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely a worthwhile buy These microspikes make a night and day difference hiking across ice. They are much better than other cheaper casual traction devices out there - much more durable, no studs to fall out, and alot more aggressive. Even using these on mixed ice/rock surface causes minimal to no wear on the stainless steel spikes. ,,,,A Large fits my size 12 mens Asolo boots; a Medium fits my wife's size 9 Asolo boots. If you're on the edge of what size to buy, go smaller. You want them tight otherwise they'll try to twist around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best spikes for ice fishing I use these primarily for ice fishing. These are especially useful during early ice when there's minimal snow. I've used other cheaper ice spikes before that snapped causing me to slip and fall. They are a bit bulky compared to some other products, but in terms of traction, these blow them out of the water (ice). I've even tried jogging on the ice with them with zero slippage. Highly recommended for icy conditions, whether on a frozen lake or up high on a mountain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Combination The White Mountains of NH are essentially giant frozen waterfalls in the wintertime, punctuated by giant pointy rocks. If you wore full crampons, they'd be ruined on the rock, but there's no way to make it to the summit without traction. Microspikes are the perfect balance of convenience and safety: easy to put on and take off, sturdy enough to get you up the mountain in one piece. Stop shopping around for the cheaper option and get these!
