"Great for everything but Cherub is pink not green" 04/22/13
I have a couple of these I use for everything. Climbing, hiking, layering, base layering, backpacking. They never stink and they're warm but not too warm. I even wear the black in the summer and I'm fine. I bought a wool tshirt from every brand and returned them all but the icebreakers. They're soft! I wanted another one, in green, and ordered Cherub. It's hot pink. Moosejaw's fault not Icebreaker. Buy these, they're amazing.
"Delicate for Backpacking" 04/05/13
I love the shirt, it dries quickly and doesn't smell even after two days of hiking. However, it is a bit delicate for backpacking. The chest strap wore two tiny holes in the front after only three hiking trips. I'm thinking about getting a patch sewn over the hole so my bra doesn't show because it is too expensive to throw this shirt away.
"Staple tee" 02/08/13
Classic, versatile cut in luxurious merino wool. I can wear this to the gym, around town with jeans, or under a cardigan to work. I saved up my Moosejaw rewards to get this and I'm SOOOO happy I did! Will definitely purchase again--hope Icebreaker starts making these in a classic plain white.
"So soft, stink proof = the bomb" 03/11/12
I spent a few months doing multi-day hikes throughout the National Parks of the USA last summer and this was my go to shirt. The cut is perfect, the wool is uber breathable, super soft and even after 4+ days out hiking wont stink. I wish I could afford a whole wardrobe of these tops in every colour. If you do any physical activity, buying this t-shirt is a total no brainer.
"Highly recommended for running and biking all year round" 12/12/11
I purchased this shirt in the summer and have found it to be a great shirt for running and biking in both hot/humid and cold/dry temperatures. This shirt always keeps me at the right temperature. I have worn and washed this shirt rather frequently, and was impressed by how well it retains its shape and texture. Unfortunately and against all warnings on the label I also made the mistake of putting the shirt in the dryer, but even so there was only some very minor shrinkage. I definitely recommend this shirt.
"Definitely keeps me cooler." 09/01/11
For the most part it fulfilled everything the product description attributed to it. The length of the tops are even a bit longer, which is nice so as to avoid it riding up with a pack on. My only disappointment was that the fabric was not quite as soft as I was hoping. My skin is relatively sensitive to anything rough and/or picky. It doesn't really bother me, though, I had just expected it to be a little softer overall. That aside, the fit was great. I am 5'3 and about 135. I got the L because I wanted to ensure that it was going to be a little roomy and that it wasn't going to be too tight across the chest.
"Can't get any better than wool." 06/26/11
Icebreaker has a reputation for top notch thermal gear, and this top is no exception. Its super light weight and nice and soft against the skin. Perfect for a hot day out, you wont feel any moisture with this baby. Size small fits true to size, great length (not many opportunities get the plumber crack out), though the neck is a bit high. Cant go wrong with this top
"Suitable for any occasion." 06/26/11
All of my casual, gym and hiking clothes are Icebreaker. Their proven track record is second to none and this top is no different. I took this on a trip to South America and put it through its paces climbing volcanoes, hiking, camping out and out on the town with jeans. The fabric is so easy to wear and soft on the skin and I am very happy with my choice in this top. I challenge anyone to only buy 1 Icebreaker. Be warned, it becomes an addiction.
"Buy two, it'll be the only shirt you'll ever need!" 05/27/11
Amazing shirt... the only shirts I bring backpacking now. Lightweight, quick-drying, regulates body temp amazingly, and above all else I can't seem to make it smell bad. After 3 days backpacking in one shirt, including sitting beside the campfire, the shirt had no smell (unlike the rest of my clothes which smelled of smoke). Yes it is a little bit more cost up front, but this shirt does the work of two, or three, so in the long run it is worth every cent.
"Favorite Backpacking Shirt!" 05/19/11
I love this shirt! It dries quickly and can be worn for a few days without much odor. It is comfortable and not too tight either which is important in the backcountry. I own two of these and one of them is always the first thing to do in my pack. They are pricey, but worth it if you do alot of outdoor activity. Super comfortable!
"cooling" 02/12/11
For a person like me who gets overheated just walking to a climbing area, Merino is a perfect fabric. While it might not stop you from sweating, it definitely keeps you a lot cooler than traditional cotton shirts, and dries a lot more effectively too. As others have noted, yes you can wear it for a very long time and not smell - I think I will be recommending these shirts to the males in my climbing circle! The length is also quite good and doesn't ride up.The only small problem I have is that the neckline is a fraction too high, but don't let that put you off.
