"Great hauler, but some durability issues"

This pack is a great hauler. I used this pack on a week long mountaineering training trip on Mt. Baker, WA. It carried the heavy load exceptionally well. Some drawbacks with the pack... When comparing to other 80 liter packs, it is a bit on the heavy side. The rubber material on the bottom is not durable (honesty, not sure how it made it through R&D). After my trip, small holes were worn through the bottom exposing the main compartment. That is from just normal sitting the pack on the dirt and rocks. The hip belt has a plastic frame that broke in the plane luggage compartment on the flight home. Gregory's warranty did cover those repairs without a problem.
If you are an "over-packer" - this pack can handle everything you can think to bring into the backcountry... which makes it a great option if you are hiking in and setting up a backcountry basecamp. OR if you "need" specific bulky gear for your excursion. I use this pack primarily for outings where I'm carrying my gear, and extra gear for others... thus it is NOT my "go-to" backpacking pack when I'm trying to log high miles of trail. It is too heavy to be useful for a quick 3-night trip, thus I have a 50L pack for quick trips, and use this beast for basecamp hikes and trips with my young sons.Love:extremely durablesolid weight distribution to hipsplenty of storage
I have had this pack for about three years now and have logged over 200 field days with it. Some of the draw strings in the brain of the pack are showing signs of wear but the thick bottom is still in great shape. I love the bottom zipped section for getting my sleeping bag out without needing to open the top of the pack. I will struggle to find another pack that has been this reliable. No problems here!
I love Gregory packs, they are great to their consumers. I bought a 07 palisade my dog eat one of the straps off of it. I called Gregory and they fixed it for free knowing full well my dog eat the strap. I know just bought the palisade 80 and I cant believe the comfort and support it brings to the table. so all in all I love the brand and am super happy with the money I spent. this back pack wont let you down.
As an outdoor professional I use this pack A TON for week long work related excursions. This pack has been through the ringer and has remained a great piece of gear. Gregory really focuses on having range of packs that fit everybody, though that is contingent on really making the effort to get sized correctly. Great quality here.
I used this backpack when I went to Iceland and it is really great! It holds a lot and is just the right size in my opinion! I love it and I will use it forever!

I used this (2007 model) in the Olympic National Forest in 2008 for a 5 day trek. The gregory suspenion and hip belt were more than comfortable. Having the middle zippered access made life easy when I needed gear that wasn't accessible through the top. I'll be using this pack on my upcoming Torres del Paine trip.

Tested in mountains, with trekking equipment at it's max for a one week expedition over 2000 meters in Italy.No shoulder pain, my back was ok and great transpiration.It can carry heavy load.Design (but is subjective) is beautiful (I love gray version).Two pockets on the main belt, fully adjustable back shell, a lot of tension belts to fit perfectly your load.Only one little defect: belts that are supposed to tight the tent are a little difficult to setup.For me a good backpack for long journeys.

I LOVE this company, dedicated to producing the best products as possible; for the costumers, with the customers. Ive had this pack for 3 years, and its great! Probably the best fit of any pack ive had, and what really surprised me how it performs with heavy loads. 25kg+ is no problem. Loads of smart features, some I didn't knew i needed :P Plenty of space, straps, a lot of pockets and separate rooms - but never to much. Never a problem attaching the bigger stuff either, shovels, sleeping mat+ Easy to get to everything with three access points;top, front and bottom. Firm, stiff and adjustable hip belt+can easily adjust the weight distribution. Makin heavy hauling "a walk in the park"

Gregory makes some awesome packs. I have used the Palisade pack for about 5 years and have never had anything go wrong with it. It's also easily adjustable, I let my sister borrow it for a month in Europe and it worked out for her.

I have had this pack for over a year, and it has served me very well! Excellent features and I love the pocket system. It feels very comfortable and can haul a big load. However, there is a serious problem with the hipbelt on this pack. It hasn't happened to me yet, but my brother purchased the same pack at the same time and his plastic support on the hipbelt decided to shatter in the wilderness. Many people have complained about this on other sites. I'm liking my pack. Just hoping I won't have to carry all the weight on my shoulders the next time I'm away from civilization with it!
