Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality product with comfort that feels like they were naturally a part of you. They came in the mail the other day and I put about ten miles on them. It is as if they were designed with my foot in mind. Comfortable from the start. I upgraded from the original Eclipse which were durable enough to seem indestructable. These new design are more compatible with the wider type foot. I had previously worn D width and always had a problem finding comfort. The new design soles make for one piece which is definitely an upgrade from the original design the only thing that fell apart in my old pair. The design entirely makes these stylin' both on the trail, the street, and the office. Highly recommend to serious hikers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Should Re-name "The Shredder" I was so amped to get these shoes. They were great the first two times I took them out. The third time I was not so lucky. After a day of climbing, I put on some thick socks and started my 2 mile trek back to the car. about a mile into the hike i was literally having to march in my shoes b/c my heels had become completely shredded. The "padding" over the heel stitching had worn away after the third hike! WTF?! I had these shoes fitted by an employee, so they fit when I bought them, my heel was not slipping in these shoes. Just a crappy manufacturing job. Totally ruined my climbing the next day b/c I couldn't put on a shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid waterproof weekend hiking shoe My first experience with garmont, and i'm pleasantly surprised with it's right out of the box performance. It proved to be a great light hiker, I just completed a 3 day 40 mile rainy hike with a 30 pound pack. My feet were dry and comfortable. They seem to weigh a more than other shoes in this category, but I also think they are constructed to take more abuse, and the tread is heavy duty grippy. I would definitly consider purchasing garmont boots for heavier loads or tricky terrain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Two thumbs up I just came back from Glacier National Park where we did some hiking. These shoes performed great. I purchased these origionally because my feet got Too Hot in my full on hiking boots during the summer months. These have provided a good option in the right conditions. They also accomodate a slightly wider foot doesn't everything spread out a bit once you hit 50? and the arch support is very good. I hightly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from grandma will call them boots. The sturdiest, most boot like garmont runner so far. Vastly beter in fit and finish than the eclipse II, no gaps or poorly placed seams. The sole is a solid sheet which seems less prone to falling apart when compared to past models' vented approach. Narrower in fit, but more comfortable insoles and a tougher lacing system more than compensate. The rubber toe cap is real thick, great for kicking around boulders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe for Hiking or Casual wear!! This shoe is the best hiking shoe I have ever owned. They are comfortable straight out of the box, and built for the trail. The laces keep you firmly (comfortably) in place, and keep your feet locked to whatever surface you are on whether wet or dry. The extra room around the toes were perfect for my wide feet, and shoe brethed better than I expected for a gore tex shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and dry, just as advertised Ability to hold up to wear and tear is TBD, since I just bought these shoes but they are the most comfortable trail running shoe I have owned to date. Previously owned several generations of Salomon and North Face. Your foot sits high in the shoe, with good support. Been perfectly dry thus far too, walking through mud, wet grass and snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Push the button. quite screwin around! just ordered my second pair of these. had the first pair for two years. still going. ten hours a day on concrete floors, used heavily as a motorcycle shoe (10,000 miles per year) hunt, fish, hike on the weekends. done everything but had sex in these. probably good for that too. especially since they also make you look great. true story.
