"A good beginner camping hammock" 05/18/13
This hammock is of excellent quality. The stitching is very strong all around, and the material itself seems very durable. Being that it is nylon however, it could probably tear easily if you have any sharp objects on you. But, if taken care of properly, this hammock seems like it would last a very long time. You will need insulation of course under and above you when the temps get lower than about 70 degrees F. Also, during the late spring and summer, you will need a bug net to keep out the mosquitos and such. Also be aware that you will need straps for wrapping around trees, please do not use ropes, they can damage inner cambian layers of the tree depending on the species.
"The beginner hammock" 05/02/13
Construction wise, this is fairly simple product. Get a bunch of parachute style nylon and then gather the ends together with some strong string. Eno does this style of hammock the best out of any current manufacturers. This product doesn't come with the tree straps necessary to hang the hammock, so make sure to get some. The Eno brand straps are a little expensive, some 1" wide polyester strap from any hobby or fabric store is good option. Some event use old seat belts from broken down cars. The included carabiners are also a little bulky, I replaced with some climbing ones.
"Great for Warm Afternoons... BUT Tall Hangers Take Note" 03/27/13
ENO products are well made and easy to use. I would call it a "middle of the road" hammock... it does many things well and few things extremely well. I use it for afternoon hangs. I have camped with it 3 times, and will NOT do that again. In all fairness, I'm 6'4", so this hammock is to short for a good diagonal lay for a person my height & my insulation pad slips off the edge of the hammock easily. I know other shorter hammockers that can achieve a comfortable lay in their ENO, so keep your height in mind. For me, this hammock is convenient and great for afternoon use, BUT is not a strong hammock camping option.
"I take my hammock with me everywhere!!!" 01/19/13
Seriously though, I take it everywhere. I string it between two trees in between classes, I hang it up on my front porch after a long day, I take it camping, I take it on vacation, i take it to my parents house when I need to get the hell away from them during the holidays! I use it all the time. I love how comfortable it is and how small it packs down. It's great!
"Never leave home without it" 01/01/13
Have you seen this thing, it packs down smaller than most of my friends wallets ;). For real it packs down small, it is easy to get back in its travel pouch, it sets up easy and it super comfortable!!!!
"buy this thing now." 12/15/12
Super light, comfortable, great for Summer days. The kind of thing that will make people say "hey get out of that tree!" But really it's a fantastic piece of equipment for camping, backpacking, or even just hanging out in the sunshine.
