"Worked well..." 04/30/09
After waking up after a long night of rainy weather and packing up the tent, it was very comforting to see a nice big dry square where the tent was previously set-up. This thing working great, as did the tent. A definite must if you're camping in rainy weather. Plus, I can't wait to try it bare-bones style.
"great to protect the tent" 04/02/09
What can you say...its a footprint. But it does protect the bottom of the tent well, and allows you the barebones option of only bringing the rainfly and footprint which can cut back on weight significantly if you are backpacking.
"Protected the bottom of the tent well" 03/28/09
The footprint is a good addition to the actual Black Diamond Vista tent. It protected the bottom of the tent well when setting up in areas with sticks and rocks. Though I haven't used the tent with just barebones yet, the footprint is what makes this possible and will decrease the weight you have to carry if you are camping/backpacking in an area where you don't have to worry about bugs.
"Great tent" 07/21/08
Excellent tent. Just took it to the Canadian Rockies and did some backpacking with it. It is fairly light for a 3 person tent, although we are only 2 people so I carried it myself we wanted the extra space. I considered the Marmot Aelos 3 person which was a drop lighter, but the BD seemed to be made better, was bigger and taller amazing headroom. Overall, an excellent tent, vented well in 2 thunderstorms so we didn't get wet at all. Only criticism is that it is bright yellow, but that is personal. Also, it is super easy to set up since it is a one-hub design I can set it up myself in about 3 minutes.
"I now pitch a great tent. Black Diamond Vista" 06/18/08
My girlfriend recently dumped me and the first thing I did was sell our tent on ebay, for obvious reasons. I got 75 which is a fraction of what she still owes me. Actually, my Sierra Designs Lookout was a nice tent but just like my relationship it started to come apart at the seams. Plus, compared to the newer models it was also a bit heavy. First thing I did was check out what my options were. I took a couple models like Big Agnes and Nemo out for a test drive but they just weren't good fits. They were either too small and I didn't fit inside or they were too heavy and I need to travel light. Then I saw the Black Diamond Vista. At first I thought it might be out of my league but the

"Get the matching tent, its not much fun on its own" 07/15/07
Its a Footprint, much cooler than your average ground cloth... Its also color coodinated to the tent, just as the rain fly is, so you won't get confused which corner goes where. That's about it, its a footprint, what else can you say . . .
