Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little lantern I got this lantern to have on hand should the power go out. I live in Connecticut and so that should continue to happen frequently. It gives out plenty of light if you are going to use in a small space, like for dinner table or in the bathroom. I can also see us using this for camping in the summer or beach walking as it has a little handle. It's nice and compact and will be easy to store when not in use. The only thing I had an issue with was that it was rather hard to get the batteries inserted into the battery holder. The upside to that is they will never fall out. I think this lantern gives out as much light as my old Coleman lantern and is a lot smaller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for car camping or weekend trips, but too heavy for extended trips Pros: sturdy design, LED battery indicator, stand or hanging option, protected power switch, ubiquitous AA batteries.,,Cons: at 220gms without the batteries and moderately larger than a can of soda, it's probably too heavy/bulky for most people for extended trips (although AA batteries have more than 2X the capacity of AAA's; see my Orbit review). ULers, this is definitely not your lantern.,,Summary: best used for car camping, canoe, or weekend trips when weight/bulk isn't a concern. Alas, my search for a long-lasting, ultra-lightweight lantern continues...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It worked great for the first trip I bought this lantern for a 42 mile trip away fro prying eyes. It was great when I wanted to cook or bathe at night. However I could have used a little more light or an option for a directional beam in the closed position. For shorter trips I just use a headlamp or flashlight so this lantern sat for 6months. I put batteries in it and tested it and it would just barely light up. Maybe I got a bad one, I don't know it's never been dropped or abused.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job, but there is room for improvement I've had this lantern for over a year and it has come in handy plenty of times.,,It's good for the usual camping, especially cooking in the dark. I even use it at home if the power goes out and I need to head to the basement to flip a breaker.,,,,The pros:,,Lightweight,,Compact,,Flexible (hangs from tree, or stands on ground, legs are kind of adjustable),,,,The cons:,,Pricey,,Short battery life,,,,The grey area:,,Could be brighter for the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top of the Line This guy sets the standard. Apollo kept or cabin lit for weekends on end. The whole family was ecstatic because it replaced our coleman propane lamp, and my goodness were the locals thrilled. Lit the whole cabin (18x24) up. The brilliance about this lamp is the light distribution. It's not blinding light, but rather a soft, majestic glow. It's fantastic and if you're looking for a lamp, I found it. It's right here, and its name is Apollo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of its class Theres pretty much no competition for this awesome compact led lantern, it gets great battery life, I have dropped it too many times to count without any signs of damage or malfunction, offers plenty of light and it looks pretty cool. The hanging hook is pretty clever as you a way to attach to an already strung cord/rope/strap/whatever very easily without needing an additional fixture (eg a caribiner or something).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great base camp light! This is a great light, not only is it real lite but it pushes together so its pretty small. I hang it in the tent with a carabiner and it lights the tent perfect and has a few different settings and a automatic turn off setting. its pretty neat. defiantly recommend it, also you can buy an optional rechargeable battery for it to, that can charge in the car for car camping.,,,,cheers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth the money. I absolutely love this thing — packable, smart design, works great! ,,,,Oddly, I picked this thing up to take with me for night fishing because I got sick of bringing this huge/heavy lantern with me. The Apollo gives off a healthy amount of light + it's dimmable — battery life is pretty good too. I've already mentioned this as a "must have" to a few friends (other fisherman).
