The Big Agnes Double Z Air Pad is a sleeping pad for summer backpacking. The four inch thick air mattress helps send you off into dreamland quickly when spending time in the wilderness. The two piece valve makes inflation a breeze, just open the top piece for one way inflation, so air doesn't escape as you're building up extra lung power. The bottom piece of the valve opens for super quick deflation, a handy tool when you wake up past dawn and need to get back on the trail in a jiffy. The pad is stable, cradling your body like a mother does a newborn babe. The whole pad packs up small into the included stuff sack, and Big Agnes has even included a repair kit just in case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great nights sleep Slept on the double z for 10 nights while on a 330 mile solo kayak trip last October .I turned 63 while on the trip and have never slept better in my life.Am taking a similar trip this November and exspect cooler weather so I have ordered the insulated double z.It takes a lot of air but is worth every breath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good night sleep Took on an 18 mile backpacking trip to Ozark Hilands Trail this weekend. Worked as advertised. Wider than my neoair and a little thicker, which helped, all for about the same price. Also not as noisy as the neoair, which helps my tentmates since I roll around a lot in my sleep.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good Just took it on my first adventure, and I slept great both nights! It was time to upgrade from the therm-foam pads. My previous pad(short lived) was a std size Therma-rest, Nemo. While it was a nice pad, if I tried to sleep on my side I would need an armrest otherwise i felt like i was falling off the pad (too narrow for me). In addition, i really enjoyed the 4" thickness cause i have a finikey back .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfy First impressions are pretty good. I had been using a 1.5" self inflating mat and this one blows it out of the water. When fully inflated no part of my body touches the ground and it is quite comfortable. It takes a lot of breaths to inflate the pad but it's worth it for the comfort factor. It packs down nicely to fit easily in a backpack for a weekend trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Age in comfort I am 71 and I began sleeping outside on Balsam or Fir boughs. Since then I have gone through them all from WW II Army Surplus to Thinsulate and Big Agnes beats sleeping with her. I am definitely NOT a "bad a," thus the requested experience level does not equate to what I have done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb I borrowed one of these from a buddy earlier this year for a shot camping trip and loved it. Finally picked one up for myself here, for a great price. Light, compact, and way more comfortable than the self-inflating thermarests

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blow blow blow Got this for Christmas. Lots of loft but takes quite a bit of blowing to get it inflated compared to other, smaller Big Agnes pads, which I guess is to be expected. Nice lengthy pad and comfortable.
