Arcteryx Women's Rampart Pant

The Women's Rampart Pant by Arcteryx is lightweight, breathable and durable. The Ramparts are urban inspired technical pants for climbing and hiking. Designed for unrestricted mobility they feature articulated knees and seat, and a gusseted crotch. Cargo pockets lie flat when empty and expand as needed. Gender specific patterning.

I'm a field biologist and work in the jungle on a tiny island in the middle of the pacific. These pants are by far the best field pants I have owned yet. I absolutely love them. They are thick enough that the misquotes cannot bite through them and they don't tear when snagged on the jagged limestone. But very breathable in this hot humid weather. I'm 5'8" 135lbs athletic build and the size 6 31" inseam fits like a dream. I've worn them for week straight and besides some mud they still fit great and look presentable. Needless to say I bought 2 pairs, before there are none left.

"excellent hiking pants" 10/24/12

These are pretty much the best hiking pants ever. Low-rise waist and stretchy fabric means a good fit even for the curvier among us. Pocket placement is flattering too.

"Knee falls too low for short woman" 02/18/12

Would be okay for woman at least 5'4". Cannot resolve leg length by hemming, as gusseted knee area falls about 2 inches lower than where my knees actually are. I am 5'0" and these do not fit. I shop here for travel clothes.

"Fits true to size" 03/31/11

I had purchased these pants during the winter, and because of the lightweight material had not been able to enjoy them until now (springtime). The pants are very light, but also very comfortable. I like that there is some length in the leg, so they don't end up looking like "high water pants". The snap closures were very secure at the waist. Also are flattering to wear.

"Great, light-weight pants." 03/01/11

I debated buying these pants for months and months and finally gave in. I was not let down by the style, versatility and wicking power. The material is a bit thin, which makes them super light, but for climbing I get a little nervous about tearing them up. They fold up great and I usually wear them on cooler fall or spring days. They would work well with a nice base layer too. The gusseted knees rock! They look a little goofy but who cares, they are functional as all get out on a cold day climbing!

"Great pants!" 08/09/10

On top of being made of well made w/quality materials, light weight,& being really quick dry, they look GREAT too! They fit perfectly and are really flattering from behind(or @least that's what I've been told). These pants are my favorite for hiking, every day, and specifically for walking the dog! I love the pockets, cuz when walking the dog(limited hands when you gotta hold the leash and, of course, my coffee, there's plenty of pocket room for keys, poop bags, and whatever else I might want to take along! I'm 5'7" 125 lbs and the 4 fits perfectly- so well that I bought 2 more pairs in other colors! -hope this helps!

"The most comfy pants ever!" 12/05/09

These pants are great! They are extremely comfortable, lightweight and great for hiking! They seem to fit true to size as well. I'm 5'4" and 120lbs and the size 4 fits perfect. Highly recommended!

"Not as durable as they say" 11/01/08

I bought these pants last spring to wear for my field work in North Cascades National Park. I loved how lightweight and comfortable these pants were and all of the pockets were great for storing gear. They were great field pants for the most part, except they didn't hold up like I expect Arcteryx products to. Towards the end of the season the pants caught on a log as I was walking through the woods and ripped into a huge gash. Can’t wear them anymore. It was fun while it lasted. Bottom line: if you're not a crazy off trail hiker like me you will love these pants (and they may last more than one season); if you are looking for lightweight Carrhart style toughness, pick another hiking pant.

"Nice pants" 09/27/08

These pants are very lightweight and very comfortable. They dry very fast and it is really easy to move around in them. I like and wear them a lot, the only problem I had with them is that they could be an inch longer in order to fit me perfectly. Other than that it's a great buy.

I wore these pants many days backpacking too many days to admit. They endured all the elements and never tore. While backpacking these pants wicked sweat I sweat a lot, were lightweight I felt like I literally had no pants on and, did not rub anywhere. This was the best purchase I made for my trip.
