I'm a sissy when it comes to the cold, but this jacket is incredible! I wear it all the time-around town, snowshoeing in the woods and at the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and walking around campus. The Gore-Tex is amazing; I never feel the wind, yet it is still breathable, and both dry and sloppy snowflakes just slip off the jacket.Warmth-wise, I'm toasty to the core whether its 15 degrees or 50 degrees. In temperatures in the teens, I do layer with a mid-weight fleece or merino base layer. The jacket's hood cinches down tight when I need to batten down the hatches, and I love that it is insulated like the rest of the jacket, as well as the tall collar that keeps my neck completely protected. The fit is very feminine and is roomy enough for heavier layers and free movement. The jacket is amazingly light and slim cut. I have the feather-frost color, which is more white-ish-gray than snow white, and it has a pretty dark purple lining. I'm 110 lbs, and I bought a size small; it fits perfectly.
"Excellent jacket for those looking for performance matched with insulation"
Arct’ryx do it again! With all the elements you come to take for granted with Arct’ryx, quality fabrics matched with a simple, but fitted, cut. However, the real stand out feature of this jacket, differentiating it from its competitors, is the coupling of the performance of an outer shell with significant insulation both in the body and the hood. The heather colour is a matt white, and is therefore not too in-your-face and showy. The inner lining is a medium purple colourThe size and fit is true to its advertised sizeDo yourself a favour and treat your wife to one of these. Stylish and practical matched with outstanding performance.
