"Perfect for powder days, bomber quality"
01/30/13
I have 20 days in these so far - best ski pants I have ever owned. Worth the money. I'm hard on them and many other pants I owned in the past start to split near the inside boot seam or tear from my edges or branches by now. These still look brand new.Bomber quality. Earlier in the season I was doing a lot of tree skiing through some exposed brush at speed with branches slapping at the shins. No tears and left barely any marks at all. I also like the partial bib. High enough to keep the powder out but without over heating my upper body on climbs in the backcountry. Easy to vent as well and can drop the back without having to take off outer layers to get to the suspenders.
These are great bibs! I am 6'-5" and 200 pounds. I purchased the XL-Tall. They are slightly loose around my torso but the length is perfect. The bibs are light-weight and very comfortable. The Gore-Tex pro shell fabric is waterproof and very breathable. Full length zippers on the legs add extra breathability when needed. If I had one suggestion, it would be to add extra pocket capacity. I test products for Gore and these are by far my favorite ski pants! Nice job Arc'teryx!!
Function: There are many aspects of these bibs that I really like. One of those features are the full length side zips, which I often zip down from the top when looking for extra ventilation. The built in gaiters are also very effective at helping keep snow out. Durability: I have had these bibs for 3 years, and they still perform like they did when they were new. Just remember that like any Gore-Tex product, it does need to be maintained properly (i.e. cleaned and treated with DWR).Fit: I am 155 lbs., 5’-9” tall and have a 30” waist, and 30” inseam. I bought a size medium, and have found the fit to be great.Disclaimer: I am a “MountainTech” and test products for Gore.
"Bomber bibs, what else is there to say?"

As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions...and these bibs are amazing. They're lightweight and packable, yet thick enough to stand up to tough abrasion on rock/ice. They articulate well in the knee and hip, but can sometimes bunch up in the crotch when high stepping...just the nature of the beast with bibs. Extremely waterproof, have had no issues. Would recommend layering in very cold conditions, but overall excellent bibs!
I have been extremely happy with their durability and how they have held up to the abuse I have put them through. Some of the things I would like to have had are either a trap door bottom or zipps that actually run through the hip to undo at the top. Some way that would allow one to drop a load comfortably in a storm or even potentially while still on a rope team. The fit is perfect, the little stash pockets are wonderful, The belt is great for when you want to drop the suspenders. I would definitely recommend these bibs if you want to stay dry. Full disclosure, I participate in the GoreTex MountainTechs project where I periodically receive gear to test in exchange for participation.
