The Hyllus jacket by Arcteryx is perfect for shredding some sick turns or even just grabbing a bagel and lox on the Upper East Side while having a Nor'easter, I know, I said it. Either way this jacket surpasses most with its extra warm fleece interior and its protective outer shell. Adding more power to the insulation battle - the Hyllus flexes its hi-loft muscle to save the day. A comfy, long shag fleece on the inside snares body heat, and the incredible breathe-through capabilities of the smooth outer face keeps moisture under control. Delivering great mid-weight insulation, the Hyllus is pretty much a perennial favorite.

Chest / Bust - Measure around your chest / bust, holding the measuring tape under your armpit.

Waist - Measure around the natural waist, which is often the narrowest part of your waist.

Hip - Measure around your hips at the widest part.

Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.

Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.

Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.

Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.

• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket for highly aerobic activity in the cold This is a great all around jacket, but it does not really excel in any specific area. It blocks about 50% of the wind so its not great for super windy days. Since it does only block 50% of the wind it is very breathable, and good for highly aerobic activities in extreme cold. It is also a good casual jacket for wearing around, but so are other jackets that are much cheaper. If you want a jacket for doing highly aerobic activities (trail running, backcountry skiing etc) in temps below 20F that can also be used for other purposes this is a perfect jacket. If you want a casual jacket, I would probably get something else that is more windproof and cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of tech clothing. I'm 5'10", slim-mod build. The large fits me perfectly. This jacket goes great with my Arcteryx Alpha SV shell. The cut is a perfect match. Arcteryx clearly designed these pieces to go together. This fleece is light weight but amazingly warm. It is a great mid layer. It is a good outer layer on dry days with low to mod wind conditions. It is wind resistant in light to moderate winds, but heavy wind will penetrate. It is reasonably water resistant in brief very light rain, but prolonged light or heavy rain will penetrate. Clothing construction and design is impeccable. Elastic wrist cuffs hug my wrists. The hem draw string allows for convenient customized adjustment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket for winter activities I bought this jacket mainly because I'm an avid disc golfer all year round and I wanted something not too bulky yet warm. This jacket exceeded my expectations. If its over twenty degrees I only wear a Patagonia merino wool baselayer underneath and I'm plenty warm enough. If its under twenty I'll either add another baselayer or put a larger fleece over it. It blocks wind and water very well (unless its pouring or extremely windy). Movement is excellent in this jacket plus it breathes great. And it's also very durable-I've been snagged in large thorn bushes and the jackets come out unscathed. I'm 5'6" 145 and the small fit me perfect. Buy the hercules you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for. This might be the most versatile jacket I have ever owned. The fleece inside is super soft and comfy and feels awesome against your skin. It's warm without being hot and it breathes very well while it slides over layers relatively easily, unlike some other kinds of fleece. The outer fabric is very abrasion resistant and resists water extremely well. Only the heaviest of downpours will make you feel wet. All in all, the spectrum of applicability for this jacket is very impressive. Whether as a softshell outer layer for relatively warm and dry days or as an insulating layer on extremely cold, wet days, this jacket can practically do it all. The slate color looks really cool, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Arcteryx should start with the letter A+ Nothing but the best for myself that's what I always say. This is definately a keeper. It's such a great addition I couldn't help but buy two of them. Now owning both the hoody and the jacket, I love them both equally. The napoleon pocket which replaces the hoody's sleeve pocket is a lot more useful as far as pockets go. I have another softy made with powershield, but it doesn't even come close to the quality of this jacket. The look is very streamlined so while the pockets are functional don't plan on carrying too much. The water repellancy is excellent, The heat that this jacket provides is making me warm just thinking about it. This jacket shines in the cold wet weather. The jac

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic mid-layer jacket I've taken this coat all over the place and it's never whimpered. I had this with me last year at Kirkwood and it was almost too warm on a 30 degree skiing day (I was wearing a Cap-3 base layer). When the temperature-mometer drops into single digits, like January in Michigan sometimes gets, I layer this with a hard shell and simply don't get cold - even up on the icy chairlifts at Pine Knob and Mt. Holly. Arc'Teryx gear is nearly indestructible too, so I know it's going to last a long time and function as advertised. For reference, I'm 5' 9" around 175-180 lbs and the medium fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My wife wants to tag me in the jacket!!! I purchased this jacket as a mid-layer and it is all but that! It's thin, yet has this BA fuzzy inner lining that keeps ya warm with just a t-shirt on underneath. It's flexible, keeps your body heat in without ya getting all sweaty. Basically take the best soft shell jacket you have and mix it with your most favorite sweatshirt you have ever owned and you've got this jacket!!! I absolutely love it, it was definately worth the green and the wait!! Not to mention I bought my wife the same one (but a hoody) at the same time and she agrees it is the best jacket ever!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, in line with Arcteryx's high standard of quality! In true Arcteryx form, this jacket meets and exceeds all expectations. I was looking for a fleece to replace my 4 year old Maverick SV and wanted something that would be as warm as durable. The outer fabric of the jacket is very sleek, and smooth so it's great for layering, and the high-loft fleece keeps you warm. I was choosing between this and the Strato, but after trying out the Strato, I felt as if it wasn't heavy enough. Also, Moosejaw sent me a peanut butter clif bar as a consolation prize for spending so much on a wonderful jacket! ROCK!
