The Arcteryx Men's Gamma LT Hoody is better than your average hoody. The hood fits over a helmet, for one thing. The Gamma Hoody is moisture- and wind-resistant. Plus it has a cool name. Gamma rays are pretty cool; I looked them up.

"PERFECTION" 03/04/13

I can sum up this hoody in one word; Perfect. I like that it is just a durable stretchy shell hoody and is knitted in the athletic fit just like my Beta SL. I love my Epsilon SV, Atom LT and Aphix hoodies, but didn't want the fleece lining or coreloft for milder weather. I want something that is breathable but just as protecting against the elements. Since I am an avid Arc'freak, the Gamma LT was the first choice, I still shopped around locally before buying the Gamma LT, but was just unimpressed by the competitions quality. You do pay a premium for Arc'teryx products, but it's worth it in the end. This is the jacket I needed for those milder days. Thanks again Arc'teryx and Mooooooosejaw!

"Solid if not spectacular" 01/30/13

Pretty much your typical Arc'teryx piece.. hip length with a nice athletic fit & top notch construction (5'11", 200lbs, Large fits great with room for light layers). There's no insulation by design, so don't expect to stay warm in it's below 40 you're not on the move.. also, despite the hood, you'll need a more traditional shell if any type of significant precipitation is expected. While the hood is nice to have, I'm not sure how much of a selling point it is. The fabric feels almost identical to the stuff on my MH Offwidth jacket, which you can pick up for less than half the price.. I was able to pick this up at a significant discount, but for $250, you're not getting anything special.
