Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.

Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.

Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.

Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.

• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all around jacket! I quickly fell in love with every aspect of the design. In terms of waterproof-ness the jacket gets a 100. Water beads right up on the shell, and in heavy downpours it keeps the water out. It is also very breathable and the pit zips help for keeping cool. The hood is on the large side, but the pulls can make it fit nice and snug. There is little room for layering, but enough to make it useful. I had a down jacket layered the other day and it had just enough space. This jacket is very light and compact, it is perfect to pull out of your backpack on the trail. I love the product and hope to but more from Arcteryx in the near future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite rain shell to date! So I love Arcteryx. A lot. I purchased the Alpha SL a few months ago and it has quickly become my go to piece for any wet weather needs. Whether hiking, backpacking or simply running to my local mall....the Alpha SL is what I grab first. It's light, extremely breathable and fits as if it was specifically made for me. I ordered mine in Miro Blue...I LOVE the color! I am 6 ft and weigh 170 pounds with an athletic build. I bought the Large. I can fit easily in the Medium but I like the extra room for layering needs. ,,,,Overall...a killer jacket. I also own the Alpha SV and this is still may fave. That should tell you something about this piece. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, durable, functional with clean lines. My user requirements include a lightweight, waterproof shell that can be layered, with durable zippers. This jacket lives up the Arc'teryx name. I would agree with most user comments, although I noticed then when I tried them on in store the size difference between an XL and L seems to be greater than expected. If you are tall and lean (who you callin' lanky?!) the XL sleeves were past my palms at 6'4". The thing that really makes these jackets stand out is the amount of mobility you have in them. They seem to be cut and fitted in a way where my actions are never impeded by the stretch of fabric. A sexy raincoat, oh my.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Fantastic It's kind of cool the way the water just beads up and rolls off this jacket. I've never seen that before in any of my previous shells (though none were gore-tex). ,,,,I took this jacket up to Alaska and it provided a nice barrier against the wind and light rain. I wear a men's medium in Arc'teryx outerware and was able to layer this over a Gamma AR or a Delta LT, no problem. No need to go up a size if you want to wear a soft shell or mid-layer underneath.,,,,I'm going to take this to Kauai later this year and will report back how well it works in a warmer climate.,,,,So far, I'm very happy with this jacket. Big thumbs up...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Dependable Jacket I keep wishing it would rain harder so I can test this jacket's limits. It's handled everything that Mother Nature's thrown its way: rain, sleet, and snow. It's a great, packable, extremely lightweight jacket that's perfect for backpacking. It has only the features that are absolutely necessary, and fits well with my minimalist system. This jacket is in Arc'Teryx's "Alpha" line, so it's supposedly designed for climbing and alpinism, but I'm not sure how the Gore-Tex Paclite would hold up to abrasion- it feels pretty thin. Overall, this is a great jacket, a little pricey, but will last for years and be your go to piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good and keeps me dry I wear this jacket on my bicycle commute when it rains. I'm a tall skinny guy (wearing a medium) but the sleeves are long enough to stay comfy when I reach for the handlebars. The hood is big enough to fit over my bike helmet, too!,,,,If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the jacket tends to paunch out in a weird way in the front--it doesn't quite hang flat like I want. Might just be a side-effect of my build and posture. Anyway, it's a pretty minor complaint, and purely aesthetic. I'd still buy this jacket again if given the chance. It handily trounces any other rain jacket I've owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect All-Purpose Shell I live in Florida, so I bought this jacket as a windbreaker and rain jacket. Since then I have taken it snowboarding two times in Crested Butte and at Snowshoe Mtn This jacket is perfect for the snow. I layered it with a fleece and tee on cold days it fit perfectly over everything. The pit zips are perfectly placed and I always find myself keeping them halfway open unless it is 10 degrees outside. As for the rain, none of it has ever gotten through...Tip for the new users, keep the hood drawstrings tight or else it will flap in the wind.I would recommend this jacket to anyone who hates rain and wind getting through cheap jackets, and is ready for the best value shell on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, Functional, Quality Materials - and it looks good too. This jacket repels water like a ducks back. When I travel it is often not for the sole purpose of enjoying outdoor activities (I wish it was). However, I do try to fit some hiking etc. into my schedule whenever possible. This leaves me with the difficult task of packing for multiple activities on the same trip. The beauty of this jacket, as I see it, is my ability to easily pack it without taking up much room and employ it in almost any climate or activity. I anticipate keeping this new jacket for at least eight years or longer. When you break down the price by that time frame and factor in the high quality of the product I think you'll find that it is a reasonable investment.
