"Seriously, can't be beat" 02/12/13
Arcteryx, Alpha LT, nice. I am so damned tired of all the BS some of these companies spew about protecting the environment while manufacturing all their stuff in either China, Vietnam or else where over there. You guys seen the air in China lately, like berating out of a diesel trucks exhaust. Arcteryx makes this stuff in Canada where they actually give a sh _ _ about there citizens. This is an outstanding hardshell that too me is PERFECT, light as a feather but tuff as nails. I have the Theta AR and the Alpha LT along with a number of other AX products. Not one of them have EVER disappointed me in any way, which is why if I need something and AX makes it I buy it period.
"Excellent fit and tough fabric" 12/06/12
As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions. This jacket is seriously top notch. Very high quality outer fabric that has withstood some tough abrasion. Very waterproof, good breathability, and pit zips help in really warm situations. Hood fits helmets well, but can feel a bit bulky without a helmet (even when cinched down). Nice zippers all the way around. A slim fit (which I like) but the waist is just wide enough to fit me. Length is perfect on sleeves and torso (I'm 6', 185 lbs, and have a Medium for this jacket.) Overall would highly recommend this jacket for moderate to extreme conditions.
"Weather Barrier" 11/25/12
This is one of the finest pieces of gear I own. It has seemingly flawless construction. I just don't understand how a product can be made so cleanly and effectively. I can almost feel the love of the manufacturers every time I put it on.I must declare that I am a member of the Gore Mountaintechs product testing program, so I sometimes have the privilege of testing Gore-Tex and windstopper gear. Regardless, this piece of gear continues to blow me away. I say this about very few things, but this jacket may actually be worth it's $500 retail price.
"Must have piece for anyone" 11/19/12
I've only had this a month, and I already can't see myself ever going without another Arcteryx Jacket. The fit is perfect. It cuts all wind so you can have less layers and be comfortable without needing extra heat. With the pit zips you can maintain any level of aerobic activity and not overheat. I was worried about the look of the expedition cut, that it might look stupid wearing around town. Not the case at all. It looks great as a casual jacket, yet has all the technical features you need. I sometimes wish I had the handwarmer pockets, but I'm sure I'll get over it. Wore this atop Mt. Washington and I was comfortable with a fleece and the jacket even though the windchill was 5-10 degrees.
"Awesome for everything" 09/14/12
This thing is great. You can use it in the summer for rain or throw on some layers and take it out on the river mid winter for some fly fishing. Waterproof, bombproof and will last forever.
"This jacket is AWESOME it is light packabale and can take a terrental downpour with no problem" 09/01/12
I carry this jacket daily in my pack and it packs down to such a small size. I use while i commute to school by bike, it does not ride up which makes it so comfortable to wear while riding. I am 5"10 and 190lbs and large fits perfectly. Thanks Arc'teryx for making such a great product.
"buy it if you want one jacket that can do it all" 06/07/12
I wanted a tough, packable shell. this jacket received great reviews, so i got one. not disappointed. felt great the second i put it on. moves very well with my body. not too loud or crunchy. craftsmanship is top notch. some reviews have said the hood is way too large. not my experience. the cinches work very well in allowing you to shrink the hood to your head size. i have a small head and the hood fits great. i also have a scooter that is my daily driver. i have worn this jacket in driving rain and strong gusts with no problem. jacket also vents great. i have worn it in summer rain storms and do not get that infamous clammy feeling associated with cheaper jackets.

"Ladies Love this Jacket" 12/24/11
I wavered about buying this jacket for a week. When I finally got it I was angry with myself that I didn't buy it a week earlier. Simply put it is the best jacket I have ever owned! (Write that down and tell your friends) It is a very versatile jacket that can be worn all year long. It breathes extremely well during rainy summer days, and keeps you comfortable walking across campus on those cold windy days. Worth every penny.
"Great all-around shell" 11/16/11
I would give it 5 stars but for a few things.1. It's clearly designed for tall people - I'm 5'8" and the sleeves are the longest I've seen on a size M. The "neck" section is also very long.2. The hood is a bit strange. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but it doesn't fit as well as MH or TNF hoodes3. Are hand pockets too much to ask for? For all of the days we AREN'T in a climbing harness...
"In the land of black jackets." 01/16/11
go bright or go home. I can't tell you the number of compliments that I get on this jacket everywhere that I go. Get it in red or orange and the ladies will love you and you'll stand out at the bar. Of course, if you're looking for a jacket for the outdoors you won't find a better choice. Incredibly lightweight, perfectly streamlined fit (I'm bulky enough by myself thankyouverymuch) and the welded seams are a godsend. Snowstorms, rainstorms, wind, they're all no match for the Alpha LT. I tend to leave the pit zips open unless it's storming, it keeps it from going clammy.
"a work of art" 11/20/10
Everything is exactly where it should be, pockets right between all your pack straps, 3 hood adjustments get you the perfect fit, little bit of felt behind the zipper in front of your face. One of my favorite parts is how when you roll the hood off your head, the bungees keep the bill lightly pressed up the back of your head, covering the inside of the hood so no rain or snow can fall in. Freakishly light for how tough the material feels, which is great cause I can use it for winter and 3-season rain jacket duty. Only downside is of course the cost, but this thing looks like it will last for a long, long time.
