My son used these gloves while doing research in the Yukon. In October some days were -20F. There is a wide range of gloves used in camp as no one gloves seems to out shin others. However, these might. They are warm and dry. Equally important they have dexterity so you can work or pick items up without having to remove your gloves. That would be a problem at this temp. They are expensive but what good are your hands if they are too cold to do anything or the gloves are too bulky to work. Highly recommended. As my son said " these are BA gloves "
As always, these gloves from Arcteryx deliver the goods. They are tuff and warm, with a serious liner that keeps you warm in the coldest conditions. Take it from someone who lives in Fargo, ND, these puppies will keep you warm in the worst of conditions. Add a set of the Gothic liners, and you could heat up your dinner in this gear.
"Awesome - I don't know if gloves can be any better."

Incredible. No water penetration – hands were dry under a faucet. Warm (liners can be changed). Worn them in below 0 F and my hands have been warm enough. Hand portion has a leather feel that is nearly indestructible. Despite repeated rubbing against my snowboard blade, they look as if they are brand new but for superficial scratches. They have a belt to tighten to your wrist. They have a cinch cord to tighten the gauntlet around the sleeve and prevent penetration. They have a drawstring to attach to your wrist. The fingers are technically sewn - Arc'Teryx made the stitches to the side, not at the tip, increasing sensitivity (rivals liners). Perfect, expensive and worth every penny.
