Remember when the fanny pack was the latest and greatest piece of gear to hit the pack world? Yeah, me neither. Luckily a few gentlemen from Denver, Colorado have given us something we will remember. Fresh out of college in 2009, three lads decided to launch a new generation of backpacks. Mile High Mountaineering was born. MHM produces innovative, technical backpacks with passion and a youthful vibe.
MHM is a brand with a personality. Their products show it too. Mile High Mountaineering offers gear for everything from backpacking, to hiking, to climbing, to skiing, to snowboarding and even Urbaneering. That was a long list. That's because MHM is that awesome. The guys behind the brand all share an intense love of the outdoors, and they strive to create gear that encourages people to go outside and share their passion. They're the kind of guys you'd want to friends with…or be related to, but as my mom keeps telling me, "you can't pick your relatives". That's blatantly apparent when you check out the clan I'm rolling with. Just kidding, mom. Much love.
Ah, I digress. Anyways, MHM packs are award-winning and critically acclaimed. That's because the guys at MHM subject their packs to rigorous development and testing for over a year before you can even purchase one of their gems. They don't just make guesses about what outdoor enthusiasts want either; they get out and talk to people. That means someone they talked to probably wanted a backpack with an M-Flex suspension system and a VariCant dual-pivoting/adjustable hipbelt. I mean, they probably didn't get that technical but MHM still delivered. I like to imagine that's the story behind the Salute pack. And when someone told them that they wanted to carry everything under the sun in their backpack, MHM created the Colfax. The Colfax has a utility pocket, skateboard carry, laptop compartment, tablet sleeve, bike lock compartment and sleeves for tons and tons of papers. Good thing Mountain High Mountaineering specializes in efficient ways of carrying belongings. MHM also uses CORDURA® brand fabric to construct the entire body of all of their packs. This is a seriously durable and quality material. I'm hoping I meet these MHM guys one day and can convince them to adopt me…
