About Men's Insulated Jackets and Coats:

I just got done watching those Ice Age movies, and now I'm feeling super cold. That's why I came to this page. Here, you'll find only the best insulated jackets and coats for men from the top brands in the outdoor industry. The term "Insulated Jackets" is used pretty loosely these days. There are tons of different styles and technologies in the insulated category, and we'll dive into those soon. Just remember, the point of these coats remains the same, to keep you toasty warm in cold conditions, like winter.

When choosing your next insulated jacket, it important to start with your main purpose for wearing the coat. Many of these "puffy" jackets can either be used as a mid-layer or an outer-layer. If you want to rock your insulated jacket as a mid-layer, then you're probably going to be wearing some sort of waterproof or water-resistant shell over the top of it. Also, do you want a hood on your coat? Personally, I dig the hood thing. It makes me feel like an OG and keeps my head and neck toasty warm.

When looking at insulated jackets you'll usually come across two different types of insulation. One will be synthetic insulation and the other will be down insulation. Here's some basic notes on the differences. Synthetic insulation will hold up better to moisture when it gets wet. The downsides are that synthetics will usually not compress down as small as down insulation and is usually a little heavier. As for Down insulation, it tends to be lighter and more compressible than synthetics, but will lose its heat trapping capabilities when wet. Both types of insulated jackets have their pros and cons. The key is to figure out what you will primarily be wearing your insulated jacket for, and then deciding from there. No matter what, I would suggest checking out a few different styles of the jackets above, before you just say, "Hey, I need a new winter jacket" and then just picking whichever one matches your eyes better. But hey, I can't say I haven't done that before.
