About Kids' Down Jackets and Coats:
If I had a time machine and I could go back to when I was a kid and give young me one piece of advice, it would be to start wearing a down jacket immediately.
A coat that is insulated with down is warm, comfortable and an excellent shield against the elements. Even more important than the practical usefulness of a down parka is it’s immense psychological and emotional value. If a not cool kid sees that your child is wearing a down jacket they will automatically assume that your boy or girl is a natural leader and object of admiration.
Making other kids jealous is not the most important part about growing up, but if everyone is distracted by how awesome your jacket is then they are less likely to pick up on your awkward eccentricities. Everybody just wants to know that everything is going to be alright, and a down jacket favoring you with a hug all day is a great way to feel that everything is right with the world.
