If you're into mountain biking, hiking, running, or really any other sport where you'll want to be drinking water, you check out our hydration packs. What is a hydration pack anyway? Well, it's pretty much exactly what it sounds like. The set-up will include a backpack, water bladder or reservoir, and a tube to drink the water out of the reservoir. The backpacks and water bladders come in various sizes. There will be smaller, lighter, and more compact hydration packs for short, and athletic outings. However, you can also find backpacks that are hydration compatible that you could take out with you on a multi-day expedition. And then there are sizes for everything in between.
Personally, I have three different types of hydration backpacks. I have a small one that fits about 1 liter of water, an energy bar, wallet, and my keys. I use this mainly for running and short mountain biking trips. It's super comfortable, and is so light, I can barely even feel it there.
I also own a hydration pack that has a capacity of about 25 liters, and room for everything from a 1 liter reservoir to a 3 liter water bladder. I could probably even fit a larger water tank in there, but I don't see me ever really needing or wanting to carry that much water with me. Either way, this backpack tends to be my go-to pack. I mainly use it for day hikes, as I have enough room to carry the water I need, some food for lunch, all emergency gear I may need (you never know), and a jacket for if the weather goes to crap. This day hydration pack is also super great for my day-long mountain bike tours. I can carry just everything I need in the pack. You know, things like water, food, bike tools, and a few other things that I made need throughout a day on the trails.
Before you scroll back up the page and check out which hydration pack could be right for you, I just want to note, that almost all packs, from the best brands in the outdoor industry, are at least hydration compatible. That means that the backpack may not come with a hydration reservoir, but it is made to support everything needed to get your hydrate on. Hopefully, this info will help you pick out the best pack for you. If not, sorry.
