Close, but no cigar...There are good boots out there in the world, and these are definitely good boots; epic even. But, they're not good enough.
I got a pair of 1030's and I wanted to love them. They are beautifully made. Their inners are among the most inviting places I've ever imagined for one to put their feet. The leather was up there with Range Rover quality. Everything about these boots was perfect until I took the first step. I was expecting mountaineering boot levels of support, but ended up with that of a pair walking shoes. They rolled, squished, and bent in every and all directions. I was looking for support, structure, and rigidity, and along those lines, was grossly disappointed.
BUT! And there always seems to be a 'but'. These are epic boots. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable hiking boot or even a rugged shoe. Unfortunately, after a career in ice hockey-skates, and a lifetime in mountaineering boots with stiff shanks and uber-stiffness, the Zamberlan 1030 Stella NW GTX RR's are simply not for me.
Have a nice day.
Doesn't that name, the ...GTX RR sound a bit like the latest sport bike from Honda?

Zamberlan's that fit greatI had a couple of previous Zam's but felt they were too narrow or just tight on my feet. After several miles I would get hot spots and then blisters. These boots are by far much more comfortable right out of the box! Maybe a different last but it made a difference. Well built boot. Look forward to many miles with these.

They're TanksNow THESE are boots. Probably overkill for most pursuits, but they are extremely well designed and well made. And very comfortable. These are built with purpose and are not around-town-look-cool boots. I also really like the European sizing (I usually seem to be somewhere in the 12.5 boot which nobody seems to make).

Epic Boots!Unequalled quality, fit, and style. Footbed is (a little) harder and less compliant than Tofane 1025, but that is good for handling heavy loads over uneven terrain. I strongly prefer both the Sella 1030 and Tofane 1025 over Danner's Mountain Light boots.
how tall are these boots, do they have a replaceable sole, and what kindof guarantee do they have on water proofness.

These boots are about 9" tall and do not have a replaceable sole. The waterproof construction will hold up well with use, but you can prolong the waterproof capabilities of the boot by treating it with Zamberlan's Hydrobloc Proofing Cream.
