These boots deliverI have owned a pair of these boots for 2+ years now, wearing them nearly every day for work. As a Journeyman Lineman, these boots have performed fantastically here in Colorado in all weather conditions. The boots, while now very abused and worn, are still water proof and very comfortable to do all aspects of my job. The leather and tongue are still in great condition with NO love given. The only reason I am here on MooseJaw is to buy another pair since my local Army Surplus stopped carrying them, the soles have worn out from the daily wear and tear of this 250lb frame. I bought these while others buy La Sportivas and have been pleasantly surprised. Line Boots (hoffmans, wescos) are a thing of the past for me as the shanks in the hardcore hikers more than support my body weight and tools on a pole. A great boot!

hard to fit just got easyI have size nine triple E feet. Not only that, but the right foot is about a quarter size larger than the left.Fitting boots to these oddball plates of meat has always been a challenge.Took a chance on these Zamberlan 1006 Vioz Plus boots.Expected to be sending them back, even though they are built on a wider last than most of the other boots they make, but as soon as i took them out of the box i knew they were going to fit. They just .."looked right".Well,my feet took to them like a moose to the bog,and i had to promise them,i would wear the boots to bed so i could take them off and put on my runnin' kicks..,These felt like well broken in perfectly fitting boots i'd been wearing for years, right out of the box!.Dont know how Zamberlan accomplished this miracle.Unbelievable fit and quality build!.I'm sold, and have finally found high quality boots that i know will fit. Thanks

well builtThis was a well built boot. It just did not fit my high volume EE size foot.
Would anyone know if these boots are snow shoe compatible? Thanks.

Hiya CG88, thanks for your question! Showshoes are generally compatible with any stable, insulated, waterproof hiking boot. This Zamberlan boot definitely fits that description! Hope this helps!

How well insulated are these boots? Will they work in snow or not?
Asked by: cg88
The Zamberlan 1006 Vioz Plus GTX RR boots are excellent in snow, but they are not insulated. The Waxed Tuscan leather uppers are 2.8mm thick, lined with Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membranes, and cushioned with the Zamberlan Cushioning System. All of these features combine to make a boot that holds up well in conditions to about 15 or 20 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on personal tolerances for the cold. If you are looking for a similar boot that is insulated, try the 1004 Hunter GTX RR, which is nearly identical but two inches taller and insulated with Gore-Tex Insulated Comfort (about a 400-500g Thinsulate equivalent) and good to about -5 degrees Fahrenheit.
