"Great way to keep a nasty tire out of a "clean" car" 04/20/09

The product works great the only complaint I have is if it is used on Yakima cross bars it tends to go down while you are driving. On long trips the tires tend to be resting on the roof of the car by the end. Over all it is a good product like most other things Yakima makes.

"It's OK for short distance" 04/25/08

The Wheel Fork makes it nice not to have to put my wheel in the car. I haven’t tried it on the freeway but plan to this weekend. Other than that it is OK

"never take it off your rack" 04/26/07

worked fine until i had to take the rack off the car for the winter. now i can't get it tight enough to hold the wheel straight upright. the fork falls to the rear, so the wheel rests on the back window.

"Buy one if you drive a sports car and have no trunk otherwise put the wheel back there." 05/26/06

First, let me say I'm very happy that I don't have to store any part of my bike inside of my car. That being said, there are a few complaints about this wheel fork. The first complaint being the two mounting nuts are either too large or too close. This makes tightening difficult. If you get past this hurdle and get the nuts tightened completely (plastic to plastic) at 70mph the wheel fork can be blown over, which results in tire marks on the roof of your car. The other problem is that at speed there seems to be a disruption in airflow around the wheel which causes the wheel to shake from side to side. Not sure if this a design flaw or operator error but it seems that it should be designe

"save your money." 03/23/06

not worth it. everytime i use this, i could not secure my front wheel no matter how tight i get the skewer. it always get loosen by the wind. if you have a very expensive wheel, play it safe and transport it inside your car. don't use this product specially if you're driving more than 60 mph.
