"Good option for factory crossbars" 02/13/12
I have a pair of these on my 2004 Pontiac Vibe. They're fairly easy to install - the most time consuming part was replacing the bar clamps on my bike racks.Taking them off temporarily takes long enough that I just leave the racks on all the time. You have to run the hand-tightened nut all the way off the clamping screw for each of the Mighty Mounts, so that's three for each bike rack.On the Vibe the factory bars are so flimsy and close to the roof that the clamping bolt on the Mighty Mount can potentially scratch the roof panel if you don't position the mounts right. I've been using mine for half a year with no problems, although they don't clamp as tight as a standard Yakima rack.

The mighty mounts do what they were designed to to, but they are kind of a pain in the neck to assemble. There are a lot if different parts and the bolts get rusty quick. Fit my factory jeep cross bars, so I'm happy.
"Great Option for Factory Racks" 01/15/10
Have these on our 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Solid system for attaching Yakima accessories to a factory rack. As mentioned in another review, you will probably need 2 sets for each Yakima accessory you want to mount. Use Yakima's fit my car utility to find out what you need for your application. "Not actually "Universal” You’ll need 2 sets for saddles &/or rollers." 06/03/09
This product is not actually universal. For Mako Saddles and Hulley Rollers (maybe others) you will need two sets of Mighty Mounts (8 total). At first I tried to make mounting plates to go from one bolt (mighty mount) to four bolts (saddles/rollers)… But I did not think it was sturdy enough. I eventually bought an extra set of Mighty Mounts; which would have been cheaper to start with. Yakima should notify their venders (like Moosejaw) that two sets of Mighty Mounts are needed for most of their other products. Not Moosejaw’s fault—they’ve been awesome. Thanks!
"Great great way to add yakima Racks to factory crossbars" 04/20/09
If you are looking for a way to make Yakima products fit your factory rack these adapters work well. Get the benefit of not being required to buy an aftermarket roof rack system while at the same time take advantage of Yakima’s life time warranty. I would suggest Yakima products to anyone looking for racks or accessories in part based on their great costumer service.

I used these with a Raptor bike mount on my 2005 Subaru factory bars to bring my sister's road bike from DC to MA. Totally functional, easy to use, and WAAYYY cheaper than buying a whole new rack set. If you have wide, flat cross-bars on your car, this will work for you.

I bought these with the Powderhorn SE ski rack, and everything went together fairly easily. I found that I had to undo what I'd put together twice or so, but generally it went together and attached to my roof rack with no trouble. Very secure and well made. I haven't actually put the skis on and headed up the mountain, but, compared to another rack that I gave up even mounting to my truck, the Mighty Mounts with the rack is a great system.
