"Very quick and easy" 05/28/10
I could not be happier with this rack. I built it in about 20 minutes. It takes about 3 minutes to put it on my truck and about another 2 minutes to put 2 bikes on it. I can't imagine anything faster. The bikes stay very secure and there is no squeaking or other noises while driving. I bought the Yakima hitch lock. It's kinda cheesy looking and looks as though it's main purpose is to keep the honest people honest. You will have to use some sort of cable lock to lock the bikes to the rack. I would buy this rack again without hesitation.
"Very handy" 11/28/09
It came in a giant, heavy box that Moosejaw shipped for free. How do they make a profit on this thing? It was VERY simple to assemble. No more than 15 minutes....and I am not much of a "do-it-yourselfer".It fits on the 2" hitch on my Toyota Tacoma very easily. You can mount this rack on your truck and put your bikes on in just under 5 minutes. Maybe less if you hurry. I can't imagine a quicker mounting system for bikes. The rack bounces a bit when driving but is very solid and makes no noise. I can now take my bike without filling up the bed of the truck when camping! I love it.
"Older sytle easy up rack is still way better than the new hold up or easy up racks!" 06/22/08
Good rack overall, does not fit 1 1/4 class 1 receiver hitch without modification to either hitch or rack. Also, rack does not accept standard 1/2 hitch pins or standard 1/2 inch locking hitch pins. To lock this rack to your hitch you will need to modify rack drill out and overbore rack hitch pin threads or purchase a locking pin from Yakima. This rack requires a lot of tweaking to get it to work with a class 1 hitch, but would be a painless set up for a class 2 or class 3 hitch. The locking hitch pin issue would be the same for what ever class hitch however.
