Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secured for a week We purchased this for our Toyota Matrix, 2006, bare roof car to take luggage from KY to MD for a cruise. We used it to tie a soft luggage bag to and it stored 2 large suitcases and a few pairs of shoes. We traveled interstate and through moderate rain one day for 10 hours. The racks held in place just fine. We parked the car at hotel during the trip (with the locks installed on the racks) and when we returned, the racks were still on car, untampered. Needless to say all went well and as planned. We don't use them unless we are needing them for trips as they generate noise, but the two other times we've used them for 4 hour+ trips they have yet to fail through wind gusts or rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy 'em, use 'em, love 'em. I LOVE MY LOCKS!!!! The Yakima SKS Locks Cores are about as good as it gets. The product is so incredibly easy to use, that it took me a total of 10 minutes to install 6 of the 8 I bought. (Including the 4 minutes I spent looking for the key after I dropped it under the car!) What's really great is that they come in packs of 2, 4, 6, 8, 247, etc. so you can buy as many as you want and still use the same key. For someone like me, who does a bunch of different sports throughout the year, the best thing about the lock cores is that you can really easily pop them in and out of the various rack attachments as you need to. I love the fact that they come with multiple keys, and that you can r

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy them, they are "Must Have", if you have a Yakima Rack! I have had a Yakima Rack for over a year now,and I love the Rack system. But I have always worried about the rack coming loose, or even worse being stolen. My biggest fear, was that someone would steal the rack "with" my Composite kayak in it!

Next comes Moosejaw to the rescue!(YEA MOOSEJAW!) I ordered a set of 4 Yakima SKS (SKS means Same Key System) core locks, and had them in just a few days. The Service was OUTSTANDING! :) I am now the proud owner of 4 core locks for my Yakima Rack, and they all are the same key!

Installation was a SNAP! You get a special key with the cores, that does not have any cuts in it. It looks like a blank key. You push the blank kay into the lock

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Safety first, lock your good stuff. These little do-dads go into all sorts of Yakima kit. Towers and roof-rack-attacher-things so no one can steal the rack from your car; bike racks so no one can steal your sweet bike from the roof of your car; lots of other Yakima stuff. And it all uses the same key. And you can buy them in different quantities of cores, and order the same key type, so you can still use only one key. These are cheap insurance considering their versatility. Who doesn't get these and gets their rack stolen? I don't know, perhaps someone who lives where people are nicer and don't steal your stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth the price! I've never had my racks stolen, but if you ever read any outdoor, vehicle, subaru, kayaking, etc. forums, you will see many people talking about how their racks had been stolen. It is too easy, and takes less than 20 seconds to grab someone's bars and control towers. These locks prevent your bars/towers from disappearing off your roof while you're in a store, or at work, or sitting in your own parking lot. With these locks, the control towers would literally lave to be cut apart (destroying them in the process) to be stolen. They are worth the price for the purpose they serve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work and they last and you need them. I have had my Yakima system / arsenal for 10 years now and it has been flawless the entire time. Now I am expanding it to my wife's CRV. It is amazing how well this thing grips my wife's car. She will not get it off without the keys. : ),,I consider these things mandatory as some rack accessories I own are only reliable if they are locked.,,If you want to have a great rack system buy a Yakima system.,,If you buy it from Moose Jaw you get the reward points and many times free shipping. Nobody discounts Yakima gear. This is as good as it gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fast service with a smile I think haven't really seen their faces! In the hurried frenzy of spring I ordered some Yakima parts but forgot the darn locks to install them firmly to the old truck. After repeated attempts to get the local beaver to secure the canoe to the top of my vehicle, I ordered the darn locks and Moosejaw had the to the door before the beaver got lock jaw. The wifey isn't very happy as the unemployed beaver is now harvesting our trees once again. But on the bright side the fish are biting and the canoe can go along for the ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You gotta have lots of these If you care about the stuff you're putting on your rack, as well as the rack itself, get some lock cores the more the better. You'll want one for each rack tower, one for each mount bike/ski/snowboard/etc. and dont' forget to get SKS lock housings for the backside of your bike mounts since when you don't have anything in the rack, someone could just remove those expensive bike mounts. My setup equals 4 tower locks, 4 bike mount locks 4 lock housing locks
