"Keeps my bikes safe!" 03/14/12
I was always scared to go run into a store or go grab a bite to eat when I had my bikes attached to my hitch bike rack. I've heard of several people getting their bikes stolen when they stepped away for 5 minutes. Now I can leave my precious bikes attached to the rack without having to worry about them getting stolen!

I've never had my racks stolen, but if you ever read any outdoor, vehicle, subaru, kayaking, etc. forums, you will see many people talking about how their racks had been stolen. It is too easy, and takes less than 20 seconds to grab someone's bars and control towers. These locks prevent your bars/towers from disappearing off your roof while you're in a store, or at work, or sitting in your own parking lot. With these locks, the control towers would literally lave to be cut apart (destroying them in the process) to be stolen. They are worth the price for the purpose they serve.

These core locks are the only way to go! Yakima racks are top of the line and if you do not protect your investment with these core locks your racks (and maybe you gear) could be ripped off. Buy the eight-pack so you do not have to have two sets of keys.

The SKS could not be easier to install! It takes all of about 15 seconds per lock to have it fully installed. After making a large investment in a rack, why would you leave it unlocked? Pick these up, you'll love that you did when your rack is still on your car after parking in that shady part of town.

These were easy to insert in to the roof rack but a little tough to lock due to the pressure the roof rack clamps have to hold onto the car. I was able to get all four locked and they seem as though they are going to work well to keep anyone from stealing the racks.
