We purchased this for our Toyota Matrix, 2006, bare roof car to take luggage from KY to MD for a cruise. We used it to tie a soft luggage bag to and it stored 2 large suitcases and a few pairs of shoes. We traveled interstate and through moderate rain one day for 10 hours. The racks held in place just fine. We parked the car at hotel during the trip (with the locks installed on the racks) and when we returned, the racks were still on car, untampered. Needless to say all went well and as planned. We don't use them unless we are needing them for trips as they generate noise, but the two other times we've used them for 4 hour+ trips they have yet to fail through wind gusts or rain.
The Q clips fit my vehicle great--the roof rack isn't going anywhere. A little tough to install the first time, but once you get the hang of it it's not too bad and definitely worth the hard work. Moosejaw has the best price I could fine online!
These are great. Throw the keys to them in your car and leave them there and you don't have to worry about losing the keys. You can unlock and take off the whole thing in less than a minute, no joke. Really well designed and secure.

The first set of these we bought, we tightened the screw too far, then clamped it down, and the plastic outer clip broke. Oops! No problem though, we exchanged it for a new set and were much more careful the 2nd time around. The measuring gets to be a pain in the youknowwhere, even for an architect's daughter, but if you take the time to do it right it's an awesome product.
These things grab the side of my car and don't let go. At first I was kind of afraid the rack would fall off when I read how it attached. But after installation I have no fear.
I was able to use these clips with a pair of my old towers to fit my rack onto my new car. The versatility of Yakima and the clips that they have that help customers fit their racks to any vehicle keeps me coming back and buying from them.
I use the Q80 clips on my 2005 Grand Prix and they are great. Plus you need them just to install the rack system to begin with. Just make sure you have the correct clips for your model and make of vehicle otherwise an improper fit of the system will occur.
Q-clips. Boring item that works well. Fit my car easily.<BR><BR>The important part. MJ had the ones to fit my 1974 Studebaker, ok it is an 03 MINI cooper. Still no-one else had them in stock and used a recycled box to ship them in and quick fashion.
Q Clips are super! At first I thought they sucked and didn’t fit my car but then I realized that I’m an idiot and was putting them on backwards… After that I thought they were wonderful and even asked them if I could take them out to dinner to make up for yelling at them!
