Works great, looks great, easy install! The fairing really cut down on the wind noise from just the bars. It was an easy installation and it looks great. I ordered the 44 for my 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX. Fitment with other components Make sure you understand what is required of your rack attachments as well. I have a couple of King Cobra bike racks that makes it a little difficult when mounting to secure everything. Yakima recommends you mount the rack backwards so that the bikes face the back of the car. Security Grab an accessory lock or two to secure the fairing to your rack, otherwise someone can simply unscrew the bolts and take your nice shiny fairing.

Did What I Wanted It To Do,,Before putting the fairing up on my 03' Acura TL the racks would whistle starting at 65mph and would be loud enough that moderate level music wouldn't block it out by the time you hit 70-75mph. ,,,,The fairing got rid of the whistle for all but maybe twice on my 8 hours of driving last trip out. ,,,,With the fairing you get more of the kind of noise when it's jsut super windy outside. The noise created with the fairing installed is much quieter, lower pitched, and can be drown out with a little music. ,,,,Yakima says the fairing is lockable with the sks lock cores...True... ,,BUT you ALSO NEED another accessory to even be able to use the locks with the fairing. ,,

Must buy for Yakima Roof RacksI purchased a Yakima roof rack for a 2013 Mazda3 and held off on the fairing. My initial intentions were to remove the crossbars when not needed, but after a few weeks I haven't done this once. The howl from a bare roof rack is LOUD. It begins to be noticiable at 30mph and increases in volume with speed. While the fairing does not totally eliminate noise, it does bring it down to a far more bearable level. The end result is more of a light wind noise versus the loud howl. Installation is a breeze. And for those concerned about appearance, adds that "I do things outdoors" look to your ride.

disappointedI had some issues with this product. When I received my fairing it was already assembled for me. But it was put together backwards. I was sent a used product. I was pretty disappointed about the service with Moosejaw due to this product. I spoke with customer service about what I could do, they were extremely helpful. Due to the product being out of stock, I took it upon myself to get the rivets out to fix the fairing. A Yakima rep was cool enough to send me free rivets to replace the ones I had to cut off of my fairing. I now have my fairing on my car, but it took me two hours to fix the problems with it. <BR>I just want to mention again, that your custom service was excellent. I

Chicks dig itOkay, it's all about the fairing, boys. Seriously. Don't worry about the other part of the rack... if you don't have enough money for everything yet, just buy the fairing. This thing is CHICK MAGNET. I didn't have enough for the whole rack, and so I got the fairing first, okay? I strapped it up there by itself, and just drove around Santa Monica for awhile, honking at girls. I SWEAR, this bmw full of hoochies rolled up to me and said; "Hey! Cute bag, is that a purse?" And I said. "Heh, no dude, it's a man bag..." And they said "No, that looks just like my purse... see look" And then I said "Nah, my girlfriend made this for me..." And she said "Ahhh, you have a girlfriend..." and I said "Heh,

A must buy for anyone with a roof-mounted rackWhen you first pull the fairing out of the box your initial impression may be "this doesn't look too promising," which is what I first thought when I saw it. But as I was installing it, a process which is very simple to do, it started to grow on me. After it was installed I took it for a test ride and at about 40mph I fell in love. I had driven around without the fairing for about 2 weeks before buying this one. The entire time complaining about the wind noise. This fairing COMPLETELY eliminated all the wind noise I had been experiencing. Now all of my mounts are hidden away and quiet, and it really brings together a complete look for your entire rack system. I would Highly recommend ge

Works like a dream!OK, so my first purchase from the Jaw was a set of Q-Towers, crossbars and Q-clips only one set because you guys were OUT! and after being forced into the real world to buy the other set of clips, got everything installed and my Kia never looked COOLER! Then I drove it on the highway and discovered why the fairing is recommended. The wind howl was worse than visiting the top of Grandfather Mountain with a pack of wild wolves. So, I buy the fairing, install the fairing and miracle of miracles, the howl is gone! But now I can hear my wife again . . . . . thanks alot Moosejaw! Oy vay!

AHHHH, Silence!I never had any type of whistling when I had my rack on my last car, so I never knew what the big deal was about a fairing. Then I got my new car and couldn't believe the amount of noise that can be created by a roof rack! While the fairing seems a bit pricy, if you have a whistling roof rack this is so worth it. Since I commute mostly on the highway, most of my commute was just noise drowning out my stereo, now it is music that I want to hear and no whistle. One drive and you will be a believer too! Hmmm, I bet a cool MOOSEJAW sticker would look really cool on that fairing...

If I want to load, let's say some 2 x 4"'s, up on my rack and they extend out over the front crossbar does the fairing get in the way or does it get squashed?
Asked by: Drew
The Fairing should not interfere at all with your 2 x 4's as it is slanted downward below the crossbar. The only thing that could possibly get squashed are the mounts that connect it. Hope this helps!

I currently have sport rack roof racks on my 2007 Honda civic and I was wondering if this wind deflector will be compatible with my racks.
Asked by: faruqiahmed
These are compatible with all Yakima brand towers and crossbars, however they are not designed to be compatible with any outside brands and most likely will not fit your roof rack.
