Leave this on your car all winterI live in Minnesota and downhill and cross country ski regularly during our extended winter. This rack installs easily on our Subaru roof rack. It holds both down hill and cross country skis securely, even both at the same time without any rattling. It tightens down easily and flexibly depending on ski thickness and number. Since it is on top of the car and at the end of the day you tend to be tired and it may be dark, make sure you remember to latch it. You won't forget to close the door, but take it from me it is possible to forget that last step.

Quality ProductI installed this rack on my 2016 Forester (factory crossbars) in about 30 minutes. It only requires one Allen wrench to install, which made it very simple. The locks work well and the product held 3 pairs of skis on the highway with no noticeable movement at highway speeds. The only complaint I have it that the rubber is stiff out of the box, which makes closing the racks in the cold a bit difficult. I'm assuming that the rubber will soften with use, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Love It-Easy to install and useInstalled this on my Yakima Rack on Subaru WRX and it looks more complicated to install then it really is. It's actually really easy to set-up and the big open/close buttons on the side are super simple to open up with one hand. The included locks come with two keys and a blank that you can have cut. Love that they included a lift part to install in case your bindings hang too close to your roof. On my WRX the lift was necessary. Anyway, def recommend this product.

Yak racks!Used my new racks for my new Crosstrek in New Hampshire this weekend. Left skis locked all night without any problems. Easy to open. Only thing is they are a little noisy on the highway but just crank up the tunes and away you go.

Works WellNice racks and come with all the goodies you need to mount to your crossbars. Comes with optional locks and keys. Only thing is that I wish they were bigger. Can maybe fit 3 pair of fat skis.

Will this hold ski poles as well?
Asked by: crispy
Thanks for the question. This is not designed to hold ski poles and therefore will not be able to hold them securely while in transit. While it is possible to put your poles on we would not recommend doing so for this reason.
