Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior in almost every way This is my go-to sleeping bag. I would feel comfortable pushing this bag to 20 degrees while wearing my insulated jacket. It is warm. I am broad-shouldered and find the Megalite to be very roomy. In fact, I would not recommend this bag to someone unless they are broad as there would be too much extra space to heat. Compressibility and re-loft are both excellent. The continuous baffles allow me to shift the down to the top or bottom depending on how cold it is. My only gripe is that the thin, thin shell does leak a few feathers. More so than other bags I have owned. Here in the Southeast, this is really the only bag I need. If you are a big guy, buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best backpacking investment I have made. A wise man once told me to invest in my sleeping bag because a good one can last a lifetime, so I pulled the trigger on this one. The quality of the construction is amazing. I am 6ft 245lbs and this is the first mummy bag I have had that I feel like I can move around a little in and not be constrained. It packs down to nothing. I have found no cold spots after 7 uses in 30-40 degree weather. I also used this bag in the summer in the 70s and just unzipped the bottom by my feet. I plan to take this bag down below 30 deg while wearing a merino wool base layer this winter and have no doubt it will perform great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This WM. Mega lite. Mega awesome. My Mega lite WM is going on 3 years and it is still putting a smile on my feeling smart face that purchased this awesome bag. My number one reason Im suggesting everyone buy this bag is the shoulder cut! At 64 in. I guess Im heating up wasted space they say since Im not big and broad shouldered. But ....I say This bag is keeping me toasty down to 30 with just a fleece hat and thin base layer on and that extra room. When I need to go lower temps I put on my down sweater and I am still toasty and I still have room to roll over freely. Freedom in a lite weight quality made in the USA down bag. Ditch your old cold ratty heavy bulky straight jacket bag. Mega lite is just right!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny I have been lusting for this bag for a while. I just finally overcame the mental block I had about spending the coin these things cost. Let me just say that upon pulling it out of the gorgeous recycled box waiting on my stoop I was amazed by the quality I saw. Promptly tossed it in my hammock and crawled in for a test. This bag is exactly what I was looking for. A little bit roomier than my old bag, probably warmer, definitely lighter, definitely packs smaller. What a combo!!!!,,,,Has a nice double pull zipper so you can vent at your feet. This is key for me because I usually get hot feet in a sleeping bag no matter what I do.,,,,Can't wait to get out in the bush with this snuggling me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy it for cool to cold weather nights. Used this bag in Big Sur, California in 40 degree F weather. It was actually a little warm for the occasion. I would rate it for 20 degrees even though it says it's for 30. Have used it with the zipper open in Florida in about 50 degree F weather with tons of wind, and it was actually perfect. Stuffs down super small in my pack (Osprey Talon 44) and feels great to curl up inside. Love the full zipper. Got slightly wet after kayaking back from the camp cite but loft came back nice and fluffy after 30 minutes on no-heat tumble dry. Love the bag overall. Now I want a WM bag for summer nights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have! This bag hands down is one of the nicest ones I have ever owned. The loft is incredible. Within 5 minutes the bag puffs up and is ready to be slept in. The biggest bonus is the light weight of this bag. At only 1.5 pounds this bag is perfect for backpacking or trips where weight may be an issue. It also compresses down to an incredibly small size. Finally, this bag is very roomy and for people who don’t like to feel trapped when they are sleeping (like myself), this is certainly the bag for them. An overall wonderful bag. It sacrifices weight and size without sacrificing comfort and warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag I received this bag and tried it out in my condo in Miami with the AC on full ! It works great ! hehe - but seriously I've tested other bags and this one makes you feel toasty warm in 66 degrees without sweating. Its rated 30 so I'd get this summer bag as you can use it in hot and cold weather. And its soooo comfy, even for a 6'3 230lb man (long version.) I am sending back the Summerlite I bought for my wife and getting her this one, even though it may be a little wide for her, the extra inch loft makes the whole bag way more luxurious. This bag will be tested in the Alps this summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sleeping bag ive ever owned Love this sleeping bag. I also own the western mountaineering summerlite which i also love. The mega lite is a bit more lofty and most definitely warmer. Packs super small and lite. You can just smell the quality coming off the bag when u lay in it. Not the nasty chemical smell alot of bags give off but a smell of great quality. Cant wait to use it on my AT thru hike in 2014!!! Would rate it closer to 20 degrees not 30 as western mountaineering rated it. Very expensive but worth every penny. I see this bag lasting my entire life its that well made
