The Western Mountaineering Kodiak MF 0 Degree Sleeping Bag is built to stand firm against the harshest of weather and keep you completely warm, even in temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit. This sleeping bag is filled with 30 oz of down to give a full 7 inches of loft, and the draft tube and collar are 3-Dimensionally sewn and filled with down as well to provide complete insulation. Western Mountaineering uses their MicroLite XP shell on the Kodiak MF to insure water-resistance and tear-proofing. The 5 1/4 inch spacing with continuous baffles means easy compressing and packing, and the total weight of only 2 lb, 12 oz keeps your pack light. "Amazing bag -- expensive but worth every penny." 11/19/12

I bought this bag a couple of years ago and have used it a handful of times winter camping here in chilly New England. This bag lofts up to an almost ridiculous height, given its compressibility. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to winter sleeping bags, so if you want a made in USA bag that's amazingly warm, highly compressible and will last for many years to come then look no further. If you're looking to save a few bucks and want to shiver all night to stay warm then go ahead and buy the bag that's mass produced and at a huge discount. There's a reason why companies like WM don't discount their products -- they just know that they're better than everything else...

"There is no bad western mountaineering bag!" 03/01/12

This is a super warm bag, if you aren't familiar with their bags these are one of the few sleeping bag companies that when they say 0 degree, they mean it! It's also has more room in the shoulder area than a lot of other mummy style bags so you get some flexibility in how you sleep in it.

"Supreme bag for those with shoulders wider then average." 02/23/12

This time last year I bought the MH Phantom 0. Upon receiving the bag (from Moosejaw btw) I tried it out and it was a little tight. I figured if I was actually cold enough to fully zip a 0 degree bag fully, I could suffer through the discomfort. I had it out for the first time in true 0 degree weather two weeks ago and I was miserable. I bought this on the promise that the shoulder girth would be sufficient. IT IS!!! Not only is it big enough, the quality construction and materials are everything Western has become known for. I will never buy another companies bag!!!

"It was a hard choice, but this bag came out on top!" 12/08/10

So, when I was trying to decided between down 0 degree sleeping bags in one of the Moosejaw stores, I was choosing between 3 bags. After I got in all 3 and got comfortable in each one, I wanted climb back into this Western Mountaineering bag and take a nap on the floor. That is how I knew that this bag was for me. The microfiber fabric is soooo soft and cozy. The stitching on the bag is really good quality. Plus this bag is so light and the down puffs up so much even when just pulled out of a compression sack! It is also nice that there is ample shoulder room, unlike the rather narrow MH Phantom 0. Without need to mention, this bag is incredibly warm!
