The Western Mountaineering HighLite 35 Degree Sleeping Bag is designed to reduce weight and promote compressibility. This is done first by using the .9oz ExtremeLite shell fabric which is the lightest material Western Mountaineering has to offer, and the total weight adds up to only 16 oz. The HighLite has 8 oz of 850+ down fill to make for a 3 1/2 inch loft, able to withstand temperatures as low as 35 degrees Fahrenheit. The sewn-thru and baffled box construction of this warmer weather sleeping bag makes for easy compressibility and packing. Western Mountaineering adds many high-quality features in order to specialize the HighLite, including a YKK zipper cut to half length, baffled netting to allow unimpeded loft, and reduced internal volume for quick heating. When you need a quality sleeping bag without all of the bulk, The Western Mountaineering HighLite 35 Degree Sleeping Bag is the only choice. Bonus Feature? All Western Mountaineering sleeping bags are made right here in the USA.

"Perfection" 03/27/12
This bag is perfection. I was turned off by the sewn thru baffles, but once this bad boy arrived all my fears evaporated. This bag is so well sewn i'm pretty sure it will outlast most my other gear. It comes uncompressed and straight out of the shipping box this thing was sucking air and lofting up even more. This is the real deal fluffy awesome down that will cuddle your very SOUL. Football size is the perfect description of the stuff sac, but will compress too. Fits a 4L dry sack with room to spare. I am sold on the quality of this brand, money well spent. Guys, if you're afraid of a purple bag fear no more, chicks will dig this color.
"WOW !!" 01/18/12
I like to test the limits of my gear prior to having to depend on it on a through hike. I took this "35 degree" base camping in 18 degree weather and stayed perfectly warm. I was using a Big Agnes insulated air matress and wearing a t-shirt, boxers and wool socks. A good insulating pad goes a long way to increase bag warmth but this bag goes above and beyond my expectations. It is also extremely light weight and packs down to football size. This is now my go-to bag for all but the extremes. WM hit a home run with this one.
"Perfect Cold Weather Sleeping Bag for the Ultra-Light Hiker" 03/13/11
I have now used my WM Highlite in the Grand Canyon in November and North Florida in January. It is incredibly light and stuffs down to the size of large can of soup. It kept me warm in 30 degree, rainy weather and barely takes up any space in my back pack. I replaced my sleeping bag of 20 years with this one. The savings in pounds and space was more than worth the purchase. Great bag!
"Just got it!" 10/12/10
Wow...great craftsmanship, cool purple color not load at all. Best of all is the weight, I just shaved off almost 2 3/4 pounds with this baby. Got the 6 footer I am 5'10" it's plenty roomy enough. But the icing on the cake is the little room it takes up in my pack. Definitely recommend!
"Great Bag!" 10/01/10
I purchased this bag and by doing so I reduced my pack weight by two and a half pounds (I replaced a 25 year old 20 degree bag that weighed three and a half pounds). It is incredibly light and definitely warm to 35 degrees. I couple this with a liner and it is good to go at 15 degrees. This is definitely the bag for an ultralight hike!
"Expect the best from Western Mountaineering" 06/08/09
I use this bag more than any other bag I own. It's construction is consistent with all Western Mountaineering products. Top notch. You will not be disappointed. The only bag for UL backpackers.
"This is an AMAZING bag, had 2 Big Agnes in the past, worried about switching. SO GLAD I DID!" 03/18/09
Not only is this bag ultra-light and fashionable, i love that it is purple, very unique!;) This is a great bag for 3 day trips in the Colorado backcountry, has seen weather of 35-40 F and kept me warm and cozy all night long!
"Best choice for ultra light backpackers" 01/04/09
This is a great bag. As far as I can tell (and I've done a lot of research), this bag is the best combination of lightweight/warmth/cost available on the market for ultra-light hikers. Of course, anything as light as this (1 lb, 0 oz.) isn't going to be as durable as a heavier-duty bag, and it certainly doesn't have any extra insulation. Still, it's a very well made bag and it will last if you take good care of it, and I think it runs true to its temperature rating of 35 (just don't go colder with it). I'm taking mine on my AT thruhike this spring!
