The total weight of this sleeping bag is only 1 lb, 5 oz, and the 10 inch sewn through box design allows for easy compressibility, so you won't have to deal with a bulky pack. "High quality, light weight and compressible!"
05/09/13
I was looking for a bag for summer and shoulder season use that offered a much lighter and more compact alternative to my existing Marmot bag. Since receiving this bag I have been nothing but impressed by the quality, weight and how well is compresses. The fabric has a tighter weave that results in no loss of the down and is also very comfortable. I purchased a Sea to Summit eVent compression sack with this as well and this back easily compresses down to around 2.5 - 3 liters and it's extremely light. I need a smaller pack now with all the extra space!
"Packs extremely small, keeps me warm down to the 30's; Great WM quality."

When my Western Mountaineering Antelope is too warm, anything above 30, I turn to this wonderfully made bag. It compresses easily into it's XS bag, light as a feather (so to speak), but does it warm me. Have used it in damp 30+ weather with a silk liner and never felt the cold. Soft, durable, water-resistant. Everyone needs one bag for all the times that their extreme bag just sits in the closet because the weather is too warm. At the same time we want to be confident that the cool won't bite us. And it won't in this bag. Get one, and while you are at it, get me another, because I don't want to share this one with the family.
First of all, let me clarify. The bag is made extremely well. I don't have a complaint about workmanship or quality. I just realized that I am not a mummy bag person. Way too small of space for the feet. I felt claustrophobic the entire sleepless night. Also, it was only about 50 degrees outside, yet I was cold in with long johns on inside the bag. I don't understand why but I was. Also, I purchased the 6ft. bag and I am 5'10", but with my head tucked inside the head area my feet felt crammed to the bottom. I am exchanging this bag for the semi-rectangular Sycamore MF. I'm positive it will be awesome like all Western Mountaineering products.
"Perfect summer, late spring & early fall bag"

You can't go wrong with this bag in mild to just freezing point temps - extend it's range 3 degrees or so with a good set of Merino wool longs, socks & a hat - OR - use it as a quilt on hot summer nights. Exceptional construction & packs down SMALL!
"Other sleeping bags make fun of it's diminutive stuffed-size."
10/03/11
This thing is tiny. You may think they shipped the wrong stuff sack with it, but trust me, it fits in the XXS sack. Like most sleeping bags, the temps rating is a little exaggerated. When it got below freezing I just added a liner and it preformed fine. Compared to other ultra-light backpacking mummy bags, it seems to offer a little more room at the shoulder and foot box. If you're just gonna do some car camping, get a bulkier synthetic bag, if you want to do some backpacking, save you're shoulders and get this bag. Also, USA! USA! USA!
I looked at a lot of gear porn before I pulled the trigger and purchased this bag. I never read a bad review about Western Mountaineering sleeping bags. I wanted a sleeping bag with a small pack size and light weight, this bag met my criteria.
Have used this bag on the AT and in the Catskills. It is super light, made from very durable micro fiber fabric, and to top it off is designed and built in the United States. I spent 2 nights below 30F in this bag and it was fine with my insulated jacket and beanie on. Bottom line, for the warmer seasons there is no better bag. Thanks Western Mountaineering for yet another great bag and thanks Moose Jaw for the impeccable service.
It took me a while to finally buy this because of the cost, but it was worth it. It is extremely warm, well constructed, and ultra light. A lot of people may favor synthetic bags over down. That's because if down gets wet the feathers clump together and don't insulate at all. As long as you aren't sleeping directly under a torrential downpour that won't be a problem. The shell of the bag even repels water a bit. Down also tends to compress more than synthetic bags, so that's leaves more space in you pack. Sleeping bags and tents are usually the heaviest and bulkiest parts of you pack, so its worth spending more to get quality pieces of gear.
this summer i purchased this bag from my local outdoors store. first off i was blown away by the wad of cash i would be dropping on it. secondly i didn't really think it would hold up as advertised but, this last weekend i was BLOWN AWAY by the performance of it. i did 2 nights in sub zero temps and it held up extremely, EXTREMELY, well. i would recommend this bag to any nay sayers.
"Finally a company that doesn't fib on their bag temp ratings!!"
08/30/10
I've owned a couple WM bags (kodiak, caribou) and perhaps I'm a cold sleeper but these are the only bags I've used that I can actually be comfortable at to their listed temp rating. Typically you have to add 10-20 degrees to what most manufacturers rate them at. With the right stuff sack this bag will end up the size of a cantaloupe and is under 1.5lbs! Expensive, but worth every penny when you need light weight and warm!
"Great Bag, Great Products, Great Company!"

I recently tried out this bag in 27 degree weather, just to test it out, and was delightfully surprised that i stayed warm all through the night. Although pricy compared to other sleeping bags, it is worth every penny, and i am considering getting another bag from this awesome company...
If you like quality and cutting weight from your pack, buy this. Don't think about it, just do it. You won't regret it. The 35 degree rating might be optimistic but I'm not holding any grudges. Packs super small and makes me feel like I know what I'm doing when I'm out in the woods.
