The Western Mountaineering Apache Gore Windstopper Sleeping Bag is a cold weather sleeping bag rated to 15°F for two-season exploration. The Gore® WINDSTOPPER™ shell fabric is breathable, yet very protective when it comes to moisture. The bag stays drier, the down stays drier, and you stay warm and happy through the night. When it comes to weight, it reigns in at 2lbs, 6oz, keeping things fairly light for such a warm and lofty bag. The 850+ fill power down does amazing things. Down has also been stuffed inside the full collar and down through the draft tube to prevent chilling leaks through the zipper. With the slimmer cut, it will be much faster to heat up on cold nights in the backcountry.

What have I become?Started hiking and backpacking four years ago. Finally settling down with some great gear for Year round hiking/backpacking. Four packs, two tents, two different stoves, two different water filtration systems and three sleeping bags, what the heck! I picked the Western Mountaineering Apache GWS for everything it does well. It fills the hole between super snowy winter bag and lite fluffy summer bag.The giganticnormous zipper will never jam. The bag keeps me warm and dry. It's great to have it available in a long length. I also have the -10 WM GWS Lynx for the snowy winter.

Great light weight sleep bag worth the money! This bag was part of my answer to age/wt problem when I purchased it in 6/96.It has kept me warm in a snow storm in Bhutan. I pulled my zipped up jacket over the foot of the bag to make it warmer. It has been to Patagonia, Peru, Northern Spain and all over Cascade Mt. in WA State. When to hot, unzipping works and real cold I turn the bag over and pull the longer head part over the TOP of my head. I am 6ft and the 6ft works OK. I use a Thermorest short pad with cloths under my lower leg part of the bag. Helps keep the weight down and my legs warmer. There has never been any product wear. It has been dry cleaned 2X and looks like new even now. It is worth the money if you are going light!

I just want to be held.... by my WM bagMy wife and I have both owned WM sleeping bags (I have since moved to Feathered Friends) and have nothing but positives to share. Stacie has actually used this bag as a 4-season bag in temps from near 70 degrees down to a little below zero (and she only caught a slight chill). This bag in particular is "hers" and fights of moisture/water like a body guard. No issues with zippers. Great cut for female body. Roomy without giving too much room. And it is super light.

I love this bag, almost as much as my dog :)This bag is my dream come true.
I bought this bag around a month ago after 12+ years of freezing in another high quality synthetic bag. I was even using a thermolite reactor liner (which helped) and sleeping in many layers. So, after tons of research and going to various outfitters to review bags,I found it, and finally got it. To say I love this bag is an understatement. It is beyond awesome. My first trip out the gate with it was a 3 day float/camp down the Buffalo National River, Arkansas, in October. It packed down super small and fit perfectly in the very bottom of my dry bag. The loft in the bag is amazing and slept truly comfortably, in cold weather, for the first time in years (and without a liner or layers of clothes and my puffy coat). The fog on the river was super heavy in the morning, but the bag was not damp. i am a 5' tall female and carry a 28 lb pack, max, when hiking. My next trip was hiking and the bag weighed only 5 more oz than my synthetic. It packed to the same size. The bag was, again, super comfortable. Last weekend I went to Southern Missouri and slept cozily through a damp, 36 degree night. This bag is pricey...but sleeping comfort has become more important to me. Everything about this bag screams quality craftsmanship. I am sure it is going to last through many years of service.
