The Westcomb Men’s Apoc Jacket is a lightweight, waterproof jacket for alpine skiing and climbing. Polartec NeoShell fabric is what makes this jacket superlight and keeps you dry in wet, slushy environments. The NeoShell is extremely breathable as well, making the adventure up the mountain more comfortable. Two hand pockets feature a waterproof coating on the zipper and they’re also placed out of the way to make room for your harness or pack. A napoleon chest pocket with zipper makes room for additional small items with easier access. The drop hood stays out of the way when it’s not on your had and is helmet compatible when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Best shell ever made, should be mandatory that every human wear one at all times.I've been a gear junkie since my diapers were made of Gore-Tex. This is by far the most comfortable and light weight shell I've ever owned, worn or lusted after. Fit is perfect, not lose but not super tight (I'm 6'2" & 200 lbs,, large fits like a tuxedo on George Clooney with a nano puff underneath). The new shell fabric is quiet and stretchy just like it is advertised. I've yet to wet it out (no rain use, just snow) and have worn it around town and skiing and it has been lusted after by all I encounter. The price is steep but jacket nirvana is priceless.

Light, comfortable, excellent protectionI'm 6'1" 170lbs. The medium fits like its tailor made. I would wear this for almost any weather conditions. Dry and comfortable in the heavy rain in New Orleans. Breathes very well, never clammy. Recently skied Telluride and was suprised by the wind protection at high speeds. Hiked Palmyra peak on fairly warm day carrying skis and never felt sweaty - very breathable. Lots of good pockets. Only complaint is the arm pocket is on the right arm (aren't we all right handed?)

Westcomb warranty processI just want to warn consumers about the warranty process at Westcomb. "Our product warranty is extended to the original consumer and valid only with original proof of purchase." If that receipt is not at the full price of the product you will not receive warranty service due to purchasing a close-out item. If you are lucky they might give you that amount toward another full priced item. GE is no Gore-Tex when it comes to warranting Event.

Favorite softshell jacket, has never felt clammy and always keeps me dry. This is one of the best performing shells I have, and all the better because it's made in North America. I've spring hiked with this on Mount Rainier trails and also at Whiskeytown National Park trails, where the weather was changing minute to minute, and this jacket kept me comfortable regardless of the conditions. When I'm not quite sure what the weather might bring, this is my go to jacket.

Stellar Shell!I purchased this shell to be my three seasons go-to for inclement weather protection layer. I have to say that I do not regret my purchase in anyway. I typically wear a size medium in an athletic fit and the Apoc is spot on. It has room for wide shoulders, but isn't paunchy in the mid section. It layers wonderfully with base layer and insulated mid layer. The shell is loaded with features yet feels and looks very clean and functional. The Polartec NeoShell has amazing breath-ability. In addition to that it stretches well, repels precipitation, and is surprisingly quiet. Frankly, I barely notice that I am wearing it. The build quality of out of this world nice, but that is to be expected from Westcomb. I can't say enough nice things about Westcomb's products. The price may be high, but purchasing a very high quality piece of technical outerwear made in North America by craftsmen that get paid a fair wage is rare and worth it (in my opinion). Big thumbs up Westcomb and Moosejaw!

The Apoc is the Neoshell to go with if you want to extend the seasons you use it in.I like to play outside, & when I do, I sweat! I've tried on the Neoshells from North Face, Marmot, EMS... all included a heavier lining layer that would be nice in the winter... but not in warmer weather. As I wanted to be able to use this for at least 3 of 4 seasons, I went with the Westy Apoc.

Awesome JacketPerfect jacket for all adventurists. Was hiking in Nepal and it was raining for 4 days and I was the only one left still dry under the jacket. Quality has a price but every $ spent on the Westcomb jackets is worth it.
