Great Shoe and very durable and warm.I was concerned because it seemes like the reviews for this product are awesome or terrible. I love them! I wear fivefigers almost everyday and now can continue to in the winter as well. I usually wear sprints or bikilas so it took some time for me to get used to more tred on the botom, I like them for the ice thought and don't slip or slide. I do not mind the ankle situation others have mentioned. I usually wear socks with mine though. They are a little bit harder to put on but I find that a lightweight sokck and a little wiggling is all I need. I have no problems with the straps or pressure, all of the fivefingers I have owned only get better with time so I'm sure these will wear in and fit like a glove too!!

Awesome shoes, but run way smallI generally wear Vibram Bikilas and was geeked to find these warmer, waterproof Lontras for winter running. My first try, I ordered the size I normally wear. Total no go. Couldn't even get my foot in. Sent them back and ordered two sizes larger. Still a bit squished in the pinky toe, but after a bit of wear they are perfect. I have room for a thin pair of Injinji toe socks in them, which isn't really necessary since these shoes are super warm. The fleece lining feels great on your feet with no uncomfortable seems. I have been running in deep snow with these babies without freezing my toes off. The soles are stiffer than the Bikilas and give less ground feel, but grip fairly well on slippery snow. Yeah, they are a pain in the neck to get on, but that is exactly what keeps the snow from invading the warm, fleecy interior. My feet also stay dry.

Harder soles negate the barefoot benefitsI LOVE my Bikilas. I was hoping for a similar feel but winterized. The Lontras are far too stiff and inflexible. They hurt, particularly at the crux of my toes and with pressure on the pinkie, and I'm not sure that I'll be able to "break them in" for proper wear. I so wanted to love them, but I think I wasted my money.

Lining makes fit tighterHave komodo sport toe shoes in sz 40 & they fit me perfectly & I love them. Looking for something water resistant so my feet don't get wet when I need to walk dogs outside when it is wet. I got same size in lontra & found the following differences from komodo sport. ,,,,1. They are REALLY hard to get on because of sock but can be overcome. I wound up folding the heel down to slide feet in & then had to wrestle the heel up. It was important to keep track of the loop as the loop was critical to getting the heel pulled up. ,,2. Higher ankle feels different. If you don't like stuff around ankle you might not like this.,,3. The lining makes fit a bit tighter for me in the toes than in komodo. I found that the left foot put pressure on webbing between the toes and the right one didn't. My right foot may be smaller. ,,4. Sole looks great for running in grass. over rocks or some mud. ,,Overall, I think they will break in some. Definitely will be warmer and drier. Now they need one with fur lining!
