"Outstanding comfort in a high performance cross-trainer!"
Of the 29 pair of Vibram FiveFingers that I own, the KomodoSport is probably one of the most comfortable, if not the, that Vibram makes. First, the upper is a soft stretch nylon that "hugs" your foot like a glove. You can then really tailor the fit better than any other shoe Vibram makes using the hook-and-loop closure strap that not only goes across the top of the foot, but also adjusts the strap behind the heel. This adjustment system not only let's you make the fit more comfortable, it also makes the fit very secure so that it won't change no matter how much stress your activity requires. That's why I think the KomodoSport is the best VFF you can choose for extreme cross-training activities. To me, the 4mm thick sole is really comfortable and it's designed for multi-sport use. It provides good grip for agility and also includes a circular tread design at the ball of the foot to facilitate pivoting moves. I think the KomodoSport is Vibram's single best all-around shoe!
My first pair of VFF. Try running in them for the first time and you won't walk right for a week. They give you a great calf workout. I use them as workout shoes, but the started smelling after some time since I don't wear socks, now they are retired as water shoes.
I got these shoes over two years ago and to this day i still wear them when i go out for a good adventure. Recently i took them to Thailand for a month to wear around while hiking in the jungle and doing some volunteer work and they held their own against the amount of use they went through. Careful while running in these however, your feet can tend to slide around in them during a sharp turn! Overall these shoes are great and very comfortable to wear around town, working out at the gym, and of course big adventures to other countries where you are hiking/basically living in the jungle.
"Vibram FiveFinger Toe Shoes are the Bomb!!!"
Forget the wannabes and knock offs, Vibrams are the original and by far the best!!! So far I have bought 5 pairs of Vibrams and never had a problem. I wear Vibram FiveFinger shoes to light weights at the gym, around the house, out on the town, and I have completed in two (2) Tough Mudder courses with them and never regreted my shoe choice. If they can survive the Tough Mudder and still be able to clean up and return to work at teh gym, then they are unstoppable!!! The Komodos are teh higher end model and worth the little extra price...
"Cool and very comfy shoes (with limited uses)."
When I first donned these odd-looking shoes, my heart leapt. My feet felt free--like they were being cuddled without being strangled. Yet, they seemed strangely protected. What was this madness? I had to have them.I have worn these Komodos in a variety of environments, and while they have always proven comfortable, they are not a very versatile shoe. They do well in sandy terrain, until you try to clean them out, they are great around-town shoes, they function very well in water, but I warn you: these are not meant for the mountains. Do not trail run or hike on rocky terrain in these, unless you want to stub your toes frequently.
I purchased these shoes solely for the purpose of gym usage and they are a perfect fit for it. They are ruggedly built for constant abuse via gym equipment and the walk/jog to get there. In my opinion, for leg exercises they blow common sneakers and lifting shoes away! This is due to the fact that your feet are stuck to the floor as opposed to the shifting forward and backward experienced with socks in regular shoes. They also give you more bang for your buck since they tense up and activate secondary muscles usually not worked near as much in regular shoes during leg exercises.
These are a great pair of toe shoes. They are very well made and are durable. I love how they feel and they are very comfortable to wear around. However, if you are looking to run in them I would take some time to get used to them first before attempting to go for a run, or you may end up with very sore feet and ankles. Also if you tend to have sweaty feet, they may start to feel kinda gross after a long time of wearing them. But all around these are a great buy and a great pair of shoes and I would would recommend these to anyone looking into getting a pair of toe shoes.
These are my 4th different type of Five Fingers, which are the only things I run in now. Compared to the other models, the Komodos are a little more cushiony on the inside. They're a little tighter around the ankle when trying to get them on, but once on they fit great. I like that these have the back strap to adjust the fit there. The material seems a little more stronger than the treksport and keeps more dirt out. I run a lot of obstacle course races and this is an important feature. However, I like the soles/treading on the treksport better than these for trail running.
I love these foot covers. I wore these for a trip through east Tennessee last week. The first day I wore them walking in urban environments at the aquarium and through the shops of Chattanooga. Then spent a day dragging my children though the Hiawassee River which these shoes were great for traction in the water and I did not feel the drag that water shoes cause. The last day we spent hiking while crossing creeks and walking on moss covered rock while carrying two children and we all lived to talk about it and best part no concussions. These shoes have great grip in any conditions dry quick and are awesome comfy.
I purchased these for my upcoming trip to Hawaii to use as water and hiking shoes, but after instantly putting them on I now see many more uses for them. While you are getting them on and into place they feel a little awkward at first but once they are in place they feel like no other shoe I've worn. Running in these is definitely something to get used to as well but for the better. As they are designed to decrease the force put on your heal by moving your impact spot towards the front of your foot. I ran on pavement, grass, mud and sand and all felt great. I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone that is active as they have many uses and are easily washed.
These shoes are very comfortable. Even for me, my big toe is really the only big one and all my others are pretty short. My big toe went all the way to the end while the others barely went into their slots. You can easily google ways to stretch the toes if your in between sizes like I was. Once I got the big toe stretched out they were great. An awesome way to experience walking. I recently wore them all day at Six Flags and my feet didnt hurt hardly at all. I would definitely reccomend these shoes to anybody considering them!!
