Toes Be Free,I have not been much of a walker, much less a runner because of a really tore up knee. After a mile or so in the best boots or shoes the aching starts. ,,But with the VFF you don't do a serious heal to toe. Your weight is placed where nature intended it to be, and that is on the ball of the foot, it allows the calcaneus to do its job, kinda like a leaf spring. Yea yea sounds like prancing, but it is a more of a graceful movement. Now mind you it hasn't fixed my knee, only a replacement will or so my Doc says, but it has improved my walking, and pain felt during and afterwards. For the comfort, I will put up with the looks of "what's he wearing",,

Wear these shoes on the trail!Just finished the 7 mile long "Beaver Creek Loop" near Penrose, CO, in my KSO Treks. They handled the decomposed granite and broken rocks with ease. The leather uppers kept out unwanted foot irritants. After the 1500 ft ascent of the middle mile, I learned just how much of the calf muscle these shoes recruit during a climb -- a lot more than conventional shoes. Because they're so light weight, I didn't feel as if I were hiking in cement blocks (not uncommon for someone with size 14 feet). My KSO Treks seem to be a bit larger than my regular KSOs, even while wearing Injinji socks; so be sure of your fit before you commit to any given pair.

Great shoes to take as explorers on a multi dayBeen using these shoes a good deal lately. Mostly for running around my neighborhood, but I have taken them on a couple of multi day hikes in fairly rocky areas where I use them as my explorer shoes. Definitely wouldn't recommend using them for hiking with anything more than a day pack or light overnight, but as far as dropping the pack and going off trail or even running up side trails these shoes are perfect. Especially since they are as light as they are. The only thing to keep in mind is that though they have thicker soles you can still get stone bruises pretty easy if you dont watch your step while running on rocky (or rooty) trails.

Boyfriend loves it!My boyfriend has been wanting a pair of Five Fingers for two years now, and when he tried on this KSO Trek, he fell in love and just HAD to have it. He's a size 11 in regular shoes, and got a size 44, although the size chart suggested that he get size 43. He prefers these over the regular KSOs because it doesn't have the mesh upper of original the KSO. The kangaroo leather is great material that is very soft and smooth. It's thin leather that seems to breathe pretty well. Very comfortable, light, durable, and water-resistant. I've read on plenty of reviews that the KSO Treks do not have the usual stank that many have stated to fearing. ,,

Great way to cover feet minimally!Wearing them around the house right now because of all the snow right now (bought these in December; Lucky me because this is a spring/summer season product! Kudos to Moosejaw!)! Doesn't tire the feet with wearing. Nice elastic around the whole ankle and the kangaroo leather is really soft. Had to take the strap closure out of mine because the top side of my foot is a bit high, but with the elastic and the close fit they stay on pretty well. Bought a size bigger because they are measured by longest foot length (heel to longest toe) and not by shoe size, but the fit is good because the extra space helps from making the shoes not tug on the in between part of the toes!

I Love These Shoes!I love these shoes! I bought them in black kangaroo leather size 45 (I wear a size 12 shoe) and wear them to work as well as for ultra liteweight hiking. In the past when I wore heavy boots rocks and roots were the bane of my existance. Now I spend less time looking at the trail and more time enjoying the scenery. I used to get to camp and remove my boots. Now I use these as hiking shoes and camp shoes and have never been happier. I even use them to cross streams as dry out really fast. Chaffing or blisters are not a concern. In the office and on cooler days, I wear them with a pair of black Injini socks. In warm weather I forget the socks and wear the Five Fingers alone.

These shoes make my feet happy!Let me say for the record, I don't find many shoes comfortable. The KSO Trekmake my days of totally fun. i live in SF, CA and refuse to use my car or bike on days off, Walking everywhere is good for my health and allows me to enjoy all of the city. The thing I love the most about Five Fingers shoes, is how much more flexible my feet are and how much more strength I feel in my lower legs. Vibram KSO Treks never feels tight or constricting, which I love. This shoe allows your foot to work naturally, without doing anything but protecting me from objects in my path. If you can relate, try a pair. If you want shoes to hold you together, keep it moving, nothing to see here.

They're Shoes Made of Roos!I got the brown KSO Treks after I decided that traditional shoes are overrated. I owned a pair of the fivefinger classics but they just aren't up to the stress of hiking for more than a few miles, also they tend to get sand in them when I go through any water. These are far more suited for the trail. The strap keeps them snug and also keeps sand out. One reservation I had while buying these was the fact that they are made of leather (kangaroo leather to be specific) I was worried that they would get uncomfortable while wet, but its no problem! I love them and I trek through shallow streams and have had no problems. Honestly the fact they were made of kangaroo was a big selling point.
