Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greta grip in wet/mixed conditions I bought these shoes because some of the approaches that I have been doing are so variable. After much research, these were ones that were recommended for wet conditions as well as dry. Working on new projects, I spend a lot of time at the base working rope management scrambling around on thorny bushes and wet, slick rock. The Vasque Grand Traverse approach shoes are wonderful! My partner in Scarpas was slipping around all over the place and others were cursing their way through the sloppy conditions in their Sportivas. I was sure footed and able to be quick when people needed. They are so springy that they are even comfortable to wear to work and they fit true.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great athletic hiker with approach features I got these and the Scarpa Crux at the same time, a few days before a trip to Yosemite. I ended up bringing these as I thought they seemed like the better hikers, having a comfier sole and better breathability. I wore them, with no previous break-in, on several approaches and descents while climbing and also on the 12 hour hike to Half Dome. I got a couple blisters but my overall my feet felt pretty good. The sticky sole rubber is great if you're going over a lot of rock, as I was. Most of the rock was dry but, as advertised, the shoe seemed to perform pretty well on wet rock too (eg The Mist Trail). ,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best of the Best. To the bottom of the Grand Canyon, to Hanging Lake, up the Incline, on numerous hikes in Arizona and Colorado, these shoes have served me well. Had some Keens and chose these for my adventures instead....and oh how glad I am I did so. Breathable, flexible, lightweight, amazing traction, no -slip grip while climbing over rocks and up railroad ties...I couldn't ask for a better hiking shoe. PLUS. They look amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy all around light hiker/approach Great shoe for a dayhike. Out of the box, these were the most comfortable shoes ever, despite having a reasonable stiff midsole. Super sticky outsole, good toe protection for rocks and edging. Haven't tried in wet conditions. Good breathability. Very low heel cup, so don't plan on wearing if you need any support or wear anything more than a light pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love at first sight! I've been on the hunt for an amazing hiking/approach shoe and these babies were an amazing find! Super light and flexible. Work amazing on moderate climbs. They do run a little narrow at the toes, but I'm a 10 and they fit like a glove! This will be my new go too brand of shoe for all my outdoor adventure sporting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for narrow foot I have been looking for a hiking shoe for my 10 AAAA feet. I need the shoe for an upcoming trip to Africa. This was recommended and wow, it fits! Although a medium it is possible to lace tight enough for my skinny feet. Took a long walk today and the shoes are incredibly comfortable. I am very pleased

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great approach shoes I have gone through many approach shoes, generally rocky trails and 4th to easy 5th class scrambling. These work great. They have a nice streamlined profile. When I bought I was afraid they would not have enough padding for long hikes on rocky trails but they remain comfortable throughout!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe! I just came back from 3 weeks in Colombia on a birdwatching trip. This shoe was perfect for both wet and cold, hot and steamy, mountain trails and paved roads, 12 hour days and I wore them to dinner.

I wear a 71/2 med wide shoe. I also wear orthotics in my shoes  should I get a size 8?  I am not familiar with your sizes for a proper fit

Asked by: Suplv
Hiya, thanks for your question! You may need to experiment with different shoe sizes, brands and styles. Generally sizing up at least a half size will help with the fit. I've heard this particular style runs small in the toe box, so you might want to try a full size larger. You can also try removing the insole before installing the orthotic for a better fit. Hope this helps!
