Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick break in time I got these boots two weeks before I was leaving for the Smoky Mountains. It took all but five days for them to feel really good on my feet. I used these all around campus, I live in Michigan, and they made it through snow and the nasty road slush without slipping or getting dirty. The leather is light colored, but it really resists water and stains.,,,,In the mountains they felt awesome. I didn't suffer from any aches or hot spots on my 30 mile trip. I also felt really confident on steep descents and rocky terrain because of the extra ankle support.,,,,I'd been eyeing these for a long time and they were definitely worth $150. A great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you are looking for an excellent, practical hiking boot, this should be a boot to greatly conside Under the advisement of my strict as hell boyfriend, I decided to get a good pair of hiking boots. My main needs were waterproof, supportive, and no blisters. Not only have I not gotten single blister yet, but there was virtually no break-in period for these boots at all! Just to make sure I was good to go before a long backcountry trip I walked around in these for a few days and ran in place a lot then embarked on a 12 mile hike along rocky terrain... these boots still look and feel like new! While not the most attractive boots on the market, if you are looking for an excellent, practical hiking boot, this should be a boot to greatly consider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great last minute buy! I literally bought this pair the day before I took off to hike in Glacier national park. It worked like charm without any breaking in! The soles are supportive, tough and yet comfortable. It was a definitely must have to hike 10 miles a day on all of those rocky trails! I can't quite command on how breathable they are... It's simply because I have sweaty feet, unless I'm wearing foot flops, my feet are going to get hot. But these boots definitely kept my feet dry during the whole trip, even with my foot completely immersed in the stream water. The best part is: I totally see myself wear it everyday once the weather gets cold!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great boots The most notable thing about these boots is their waterproof-ness. I took these on a month-long trip to Peru and my feet were dry the entire time! Also, they are super comfortable and needed no break-in period for me (but I did put new insoles in them before I took them out). They are flexible and well ventilated, definitely cool enough for summer hiking but also warm enough on cold days. The only con is durability. After a couple months, the laces started to really break down and I wore a tear in the side of one of them near some of the webbing. Also, they melt really easily (woops), but I'd definitely buy them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crushes boulders when you walk on them Ok, so they don't crush boulders, but are amazing on the trail.,,I used these for a few hikes in Southern IL and *poof* they went missing! But they were SO awesome, I had to buy another pair and don't regret it one bit. They're durable, super comfortable (hardly need any break in), and I could hike for hours without blisters, even with a 40lb pack. Plus they're very water resistant, after withstanding a few days of pouring rain when I was in Wisconsin last year. They're amazing!,,,,However, on wet limestone, they can be slick, so they can't do it all, but for the most part they are pretty fantastic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Sturdy and Lightweight Hiking Boots-Worth Every Penny! These boots are awesome! I just hiked for a week in Rocky Mountain National Park with these boots and they were very comfortable. They were lightweight with great traction and really good ankle support. I had only broken them in for about a week before I went on this trip and I had no problems wearing them on 8-mile hikes every day while I was in the park. **A huge bonus for me with these boots is that come in a wide width, which is critical for me. I have a wide toe box, but I have a narrow heel and it was nice not to have my forefoot crushed by narrow boots. The standard footbed does not offer much cushioning or arch support so I just added my own inserts and that gave what I needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best long-distance light-weight boot on the planet! I walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain this spring -- 554 miles! 39 days, averaging around 14 miles a day. Not one blister. I also swear by the Smartwool socks i wore. Mud, dust, water, rocks, asphalt, and concrete. Yes, my feet did ache at night. Everyone's did. These boots were light and yet supportive. They don't look like new, but the soles wore well. If i get the chance to walk the camino again, I will wear these boots! I put them on for some hiking last week and said, Ahhhh! Yes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid boot. I worked as a guide in the Rockies this summer and I can honestly say that nearly half of my two hundred students had these boots. And for a reason. They are reasonably priced, comfortable and durable. Don't use snowproof on the mesh, but ok on the rest. Break them in before using, wear some liners, and these boots will last you a while. I'm about to get my own spruced up a bit -- four years and the mesh needs some mending and the toe is splitting a bit, but overall still in great shape!
