"Good Hiking shoe" 02/03/13
I was looking for a good set of shoes that I would enjoy on the trail and the big ups that I enjoy is the Gortex and the high tops! I normally wear boots at work and do not normally wear shoes so I wanted something I would be comfortable in. These have been comfortable from the get-go! I've worn them on lots of trails and around town. They are durable although I'm not super stoked about the shoe laces but you can always get another set of those somewhere too. I would recommend these shoes for anyone who is on a budget, enjoys gortex, and enjoys being comfortable!

I use these for hiking and some light backpacking. They are very comfortable and durable. The GoreTex membrane does a great job at keeping your feet dry and cool. I look forward to using these more.
"Heaven on my feet." 01/17/13
I have had these boots for almost 2 years now and in that time probably hiked 600+ miles in them. I can not be happier with these boots. They were broken in within 25 miles and they are sturdy. I hiked a 25 mile marathon with a 45lb pack in these boots and my feet felt great through the whole hike. Yes, I did have a couple of blisters at the end, but I have never come across a pair of boots that don't give you a blister or 2 after a very long hike. I would recommend these.
"No Better Boot Right Out Of The Box!" 01/05/13
I normally hike with my Merrell Moab's and backpack with my Merrell ?? , sorry but I forgot the model. I do hike a lot on broken rock and such, but because the Moab's soles are so soft, I began the review process again. When I read the rave reviews for the Breeze GTX boot, I thought why not try these. When the boots arrived, I immediately tried them on. The boots are true to size, and felt like a glove. After 3 hikes for a total of 35 miles, I was very impressed. No blisters or hot spots. Gota love that. Time will tell how they hold up, for now I am very impressed!
"Great Boots to begin your hiking journey" 12/20/12
I used these boots on Old Rag and only wore them for a day before to break them in. These shoes were already good to go. The traction on them is outstanding, even on rocks. They saved my ankles numerous times on the hike back down too, as it protected them when I would stumble or start to roll on my ankle. These shoes are high quality and I would recommend them to anyone! Only issue I had was that they could've breathed better, but having good socks helps. Make sure you always have great socks with your shoes. It doesn't mater how good a shoe is if your sock is crap.

You really can't go wrong with a pair of Vasques. The quality is excellent and they look great. I used them on a 300 mile through hike in VT and NH on the AT. There were many rocks and I am very clumsy. My vasques came out the other side with many miles left in them. As for comfort, they were plenty comfy for me and I didn't have a single blister. overall, an A.
"Simple Yet Exceptional" 11/24/12
I've had these boots for about 7 years now and they have seen an incredible amount of use. After all this time the DWR (durable water repelent) has begun to wear off the outer layer of the boots. However, I should have long ago retreated them with a nikwax type substance. The traction is still great, the comfort has only gotten better, and the functionality is still phenomenal.I need to declare that I am a member of the Gore Mountaintechs community, meaning I sometimes receive Gore-Tex and or Windstopper gear to test and review. That being said I purchased these boots long before joining this program and I would make the same decision today.

When I first got these, I was skeptical, I did not know much about hiking boots, or what brands were available, but i was recommended these so I went ahead and got a pair. I made the right choice. I went through snow water, dirt, mud, cheetos, and they kept me dry and moving, thanks to the gore-tex inside the boots. I go the second pair not because he other fell apart, but because my feet grew, and i needed a size up. Again, they preformed flawlessly. However, if you manage to get water above the boots top, you will get soaked boots (they dry out fast though.) this is a great boot, and if you need one, i would defiantly recommend this boot.

Despite all I've put them through, these boot have held up incredibly well, and while wearing these, I've walked away with only one blister. I love being able to trudge through streams and hike up rocky, uneven trails without worry that I'll end up with wet feet or a twisted ankle. I don't bring "camp shoes" on my backpacking trips anymore to cut down on weight, and was happy with how (relatively) comfortable my feet were at the end of the day, even after 15+ miles. Don't waste your money on the prestige-brand boots with spinning rims. These are great.
"a great solid hiking boot" 09/17/12
I have been wearing my Vasque boots for much of the summer and find them a great hiking shoe. Most of the terrain I am hiking is off trail and on rocky terrain. The boots held up well, provided good traction and kept my feet dry. When I received the shoes, I started to wear them right away with no problems.
