I had a pair of original Zephyrs, and they were bullet proof. Great fit, traction, and durability. I had to quit wearing because I wore bottoms out. I wore these boots M-F for 6 years!! I thought it would be a no brainer to purchase a pair of Zephyr II new and improved right, not so much. The fit of the Z II was as expected and loved the lock lacing but disappointed with durability. The heel seam was repaired at about a year and now at 2 yrs coming apart again and is not repairable and where toe rubber meets leather is coming apart also. I have worked this pair pretty hard but expected more than 2 yrs wear based on previous experiences and the quality associated with Vasque products.

I am on my 3rd pair in less than a year. I like the fit and the break in time but all three pair have begun to come apart. The leather upper delaminates where it meets the rubber on the inside of the foot where the toe bends. This is my third pair and they too have begun to delaminate but so far still proving waterproof.

Boots on heavy side for intended use. Poor fit for my high arch and instep. Quality construction and rigid but poor fit for my feet.

This is my first pair of hiking/backpacking boots.Previously i had a couple of pairs of merrell shoes.I loved these right out of the box.They broke in almost overnight,just wearing around my dorm.I'm going to school for wildlife conservation,and my friends and i have had a growing passion for hiking/backpacking,so a nice pair of boots is a must.I’ve only put a few miles on these,but it was through snow with slightly rocky terrain.The vibram soles held up great with the slippery rocks and goretex kept my feet nice and dry.Good ankle support(from a guy who's sprained his walking down stairs before).I'm excited to put them to work this summer at glacier national park(and various others as well)
"Bullet Proof" 05/04/08
I've put many miles on these boots and I love the fit and feel. After trying on dozens of different boots from different manufacturers I could not find anything that met all of my hiking needs, until I came across these. Goretex, and Vibram in a shoe that fits like an pair of new socks!
